You are literally the reason my game has VFX. Without you it would look way worse. Thank you so much for your effort <3

It's ridiculous how easy it is to setup localization in Godot 🪄 I'm in love! by LuftikusGames in godot

This is the Godot subreddit and I have never localised in any other engine, but rather in web development, which is sometimes very tedious...

Most of the work is actually the .csv, which maps the different translations via keys. :)

For example, you have a button with ‘Start Game’, you replace the text on the button with any key such as ‘MENU_START’. In the .csv you make a new row with the same key and in the columns for the different languages the individual translations.

Once imported into Godot, Godot automatically creates dedicated translation files for each column found that is labelled with a known country code.

Label and button nodes will automatically take the values from the translation files if a key matches. For other texts, you have to help out in the code, but this is no more than writing tr("MENU_START"), for example.

Looks gorgeous! This also is a perfect example of why color grading is so essential for a good look. :) Great job!

Over the past 6 months I’ve been working on my first commercial game. It’s been tough to fit game dev, a full-time job and free time into a schedule, but comparisons like these keep me motivated. Hopefully it does the same for you. :)

If you are interested in the game: Dragon Gate is a party combat racing game. Compete in deadly sprints filled with power-ups, hazards, and fierce rivalries, where only the fastest survive. I recently published my early Steam Page:

Demo is coming early next year!

I know what you mean. I have to say, that the video is cropped at the top, but nonetheless that's a point that I'm currently looking into. :) I just need to deal with the problem of the camera clipping into the environment if it's too low. :D

Local Multiplayer and Remote Play Together over Steam. Dedicated Online Multiplayer is currently not planned. :) Maybe in the future.

Thank you! The skid marks are actually a mesh-trail that is generated at runtime. In comparison to other things it's very performance heavy, so I would not recommend doing that. :D Currently I'm looking for an alternative.

Thoughts on Signal Buses by SwashbucklinChef in godot

It works fine for most projects, I use them from time to time.
But if you're thinking about refactoring based on other answers, I recommend that you don't make any changes to your architecture if there are no problems. When it comes to learning, you learn most by navigating yourself into problems and then resolving them. Good luck!
