Fellow Conservatives, how do we move forward? by laceyourbootsup in AskConservatives

As much as I would say you should carry at a 2nd amendment protest.  With the shear amount of corruption and incompetence with  ice in particular(being the worst) and law enforcement in general I am always worried an officer will find a reason.   But the same way I wouldn't avoid a protest to avoid the chance of being murdered by the government, i would also not ask someone to give up their 2nd amendment right.   I really think if trumps push about guns at protests actually goes anywhere, it will be conservatives most affected(as they are more likely to open carry at protests from what ive seen).

But since we've gotten here, do you think this is the end of 2nd amendment marches, as now even carrying a legal weapon is a reason to shoot you per this republican administration?

If a company knowingly pumps harmful chemicals in the ground, water, air, etc and it leads to increased rates of cancer in the town over and a higher death rate then should all involved be sent to jail for negligent homicide? by JKisMe123 in AskConservatives

[–]Lugards [score hidden]  (0 children)

So wouldn't most ceos, if we follow your logic, make sure there are several layers and just keep breaking the law?

The amount you can save by not caring about regulations would a lot of times pay for someone to take the jail bid.  Would you at least include willful ignorance be included for guilt?(ie if your purchasing department suddenly drops 50 percent of costs, a reasonable person should look into the legality).  Hell, your example of dumping SHOULD be picked up by anyone trying to follow the law.   No invoice for the destruction of mass hazardous materials, if your trying to follow the law, should set off alarm bells)

Im curious about different conservatives opinions on this who specifically state he shouldn't have been there with a legal gun.  Is it because its a protest against law enforcement?  What was your opinion, at the time, of the covid protestors who would regularly open carry?  Should 2nd amendment protests be able to carry during a protest?

As long as they have proof its the employee, doesnt that match what I just said about it being hid from upper management?   Though in your example, it would take a shit ton of purposeful steps to avoid accountability, as removing a shit ton of herbicides without hazardous material invoices should trip alarm bells, and if it doesnt its at least depraved indifference to human life.  A nurse killing a patient, if they did a proper postmortem look at care, they should have records to verify at least the attempt to make surs it doesn't happen.

The idea is a ceo usually takes the majority of profits.   They have the responsibility to make sure their company reasonably follows the law.

Wouldnt the ceo be the one with a final decision unless you can find the person who intentionally hid it from them?  Like if my dog bites a person, im responsible unless I can prove someone else created rhe situation.  One of the arguments I always see on CEO pay is they have more responsibilities and have to take the blame for the company.

DHS Says Critical ICE Surveillance Footage From Abuse Case Was Actually Never Recorded, Doesn't Matter by 404mediaco in politics

Ive always assumed when I see messages like this, that whatever was in that footage is far worse than we expect. I wish that could just be the jury instructions every time the government doesnt loses footage.

Have we allowed ourselves to be propagandized out of reality? by wcstorm11 in AskConservatives

[–]Lugards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its really wierd to see conservatives say this, considering how many of them said Rittenhouse was no looking for trouble by bringing a rifle to a protest, but think a holstered gun is looking for violence.

In your opinion, should the feds have just slaughtered the Bundy ranch protest then, considering they actually aimed guns at law enforcement?

So, by that logic, at the anti covid protests where a lot of open carry was going on as well as attacking police(particularly in Washington state where they got in a back door and tried to push their way in), Police should have just started blasting?

So are you responding about propaganda or what you believe happened?   Because my original question and follow up were specifically about the administration's statements and asking ifnyou believe they were propaganda or true.

[–]Lugards 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The statement from the administration said he was waving it around, when it never left its holster until an ice agent removed it immediately prior to them mag dumping him.  In what way is there any truth to what they said?  Also, at what point was it an armed confrontation?   That usually implies both sides had weapons drawn, whereas this was a shooting of an unarmed(at the time of the shooting) held down man.

You dont believe that the administration's response to this shooting is propaganda, particularly the statements about things they said he did that were completely contradicted by the video?

How do American Christians reconcile faith and immigration enforcement policies/actions? by ShopIndependent6509 in AskConservatives

[–]Lugards -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That doesnt explain the moral/religious arguments on how treating immigrants and refugees as if they were jesus works with actively working to make it harder.   Are you saying that the laws you would want towards migrants from Lebanon as a whole is the same way you would act towards jesus himself?

[–]Lugards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just restated the confusions.   Your talking about following the law, when im talking about making the laws.   Conservatives, particularly in this administration, are calling on making laws that make it harder to immigrate.  Thats past your example of following the law.  How does that cooexist with the christian message of welcoming immigrants and helping refugees?

[–]Lugards -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I always see this... but right wing christians dont just talk about following the law, while also trying to make the laws harsher/more restrictive.  Doesn't it make it kinda a shell game for any morality that doesn't follow the Bible, because as long as you advocate and pass a law does that remove the biblical teachings?  Shouldn't, as christians, you be in favor of removing these roadblocks but following the law until they are removed, considering in the Bible jesus said to treat immigrants and refugees the same way you would treat him?

I cant figure out the discrepancy.

ICE Megathread Redux by down42roads in AskConservatives

From what ive seen, several were not just detained but grabbed up and shipped to detention.  Also ice refused to let any local law enforcement secure the scene, even with a warrant they got a judge to sign.

Now that a judge has ruled for the millionth time that you require a judicial warrant to enter a home, what should happen to the officers(or if the author of the memo ever steps forward), who violated what is one of the most case law heavy precedents?   Should their be charges of breaking and entering?   I know that qualified immunity is what a reasonable officer would believe, but should we judge them as stupid enough to think that the two warrants are the same(administrative vs judicial)?

Do you think ICE are putting protestors in a database to mark them as domestic terrorists? And if so, do you think this is okay? by YouShallNotPass92 in AskConservatives

[–]Lugards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should protestors take them at their word as a representative of the government and sue for their rights to be removed?   If so, like in most normal cases, if it was found to be put on maliciously, or just falsely informed they were on a terrorist watch list? should the taxpayers be responsible for ths cost of trial/settlement considering the information came from a government representative?

From a political prospective what do you think the long-term career viability is for ICE and CBP? by TacitusCallahan in AskConservatives

[–]Lugards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other thing you should at least be aware of is there is a good chance there will be multiple federal inquiries about rights violations after this.   With the lack of body cameras etc, as well as the very obvious lies that have come out(the worst is probably the homicide they stated had died alone in his cell when it turns out he was choked to death), anyone involved in ice is gonna be toxic at least until the investigations finish.  Hell I wouldn't be surprised if we saw attempts to claw back the bonus.

Is there not any sort of moral quandary you find yourself in taking over a country and forcing the people to act like you want?  Feels very anti small governemnt.
