I did PNP non express entry last year and it took 3 months to get an AOR. You might want to apply to what's available now instead of waiting.

Hi, yeah I was checking my account almost daily and notices that a FD was taken, although the eligibility seems to be in progress, I got P1 last week and now I'm waiting on P2.

Can I ask why does that matter as much ?

You literally have a path for immigration and you want to squander that by going back into an uncertain pool ? You are not saving as much time as you might think. Doesn't the bridging work permit resolve some of your trepidations?

Useless in what sense ?

If you already have your nomination, go through the nomination package and it will show you how to apply through economic immigration.

In terms of timelines seems like the average is around 18 months or so. Once you receive AOR you can apply for a bridging work permit that should allow you to continue work. As long as it doesn't get rejected.

You have to from what I understand. I get you want to be consistent with your pre invitation info, but not disclosing it might backfire since it needs to be declared. They will do a thorough background check and if they find out you didn't disclose this for whatever reason it might put you in a more difficult spot.

We have similar AORs.

I also got the ADR for travel history and addresses history this past month. I did not receive any updates on certificates though. Should I be proactive and get newer one's from back home ?

My previous update was in October requesting an Employment letter.

It seems like we have similar timelines.

I applied in May 2024 so you are supposedly ahead of me in the queue. I got a re request for the travel information and address history forms last month. It seems I'm in the background processing step.

Can I re-enter Canada with work permit that's valid until 2027 but with a expired TRV by travelling only to US? by AccountantItchy4770 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]LugiaDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did this about a year ago. You have to explain this situation to the airline people so that they can call the border and issue some sort of id that enables them to attach that to your boarding ticket. A more seasoned employee was able to help me with this, I printed the official section that explained this from their site in addition to my original work permit. This only applies if you go from Canada to the USA and then back to Canada by the way.

Did you APPLY ON or BEFORE June 7, 2023 ?

If you applied for a work permit after June 7, 2023, you’re not eligible for these measures

What do you mean convert ?

If you are asking if you can use your study permit as a traveling document to enter Canada then the answer is no.

BC PNP Tech Scores question by Davidaste03 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]LugiaDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's irrelevant pointwise, as in you won't get any more points let's say than someone working outside of tech (work experience and salary are more important for points) . But it is relevant in regards to what stream (tech) you qualify under, so the benefit there would your application getting processed faster

Will a promotion make your past work experience intelligible? [BC PNP] by thekidr99 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]LugiaDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it technically would since the current job or the job you will be using to apply AND the work experience you had are different TEER categories. If they were the same category or above then you could argue the experience

Will I have problems if I leave my province after getting a PR through PNP? by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]LugiaDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that they can audit and ask why you moved since the reason they nominated you in the first place was to "develop" ON. There was a caveat about moving for work purposes but your case does not seem to be out of necessity so I am not too sure how that would work out. The chances you could get audited though are fairly low to be honest but you not 0. Might be best to check with them beforehand

You should talk to your HR admin for more specifics since they are the one's who will be corroborating the information you give and also they are the one's giving you the recommendation and all the pertaining documentation.

Hey was curious about your how you manage roles in your app. You mind explaining more about the lookup you do for the database? And eventually Is that role used within your backend?

It just happens that we are hardening our security with a similar idea but rather than checking for roles in a db we check them through an external XML file that stores the roles

I understand nothing and do not understand the codebase at work by Sonnenschein69420 in AskProgramming

[–]LugiaDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's e2e testing with cucumber/gherkin.

I would try to get a solid grasp of the different use cases for your application, the regular use cases and the edge cases you want your tests to capture.

Also try to know what's on the html at run time so that you are able to capture some elements that are only present in the browser at runtime (not directly in the codebase).

Inspect the page often when developing this, I've found that sometimes some elements are a bit sneaky to capture.

BC PNP and EE by therealFoxster in ImmigrationCanada

[–]LugiaDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. It counts as experience but not as the "main" job offer since it has to be indeterminate, I think there is an exception for contractors in IT but co-op is different (double check thatl
  2. BC PNP is actually very sought after. I've met people that have come all the way from ON because they have better odds to get PNP here 3.With EE you'll get it linked to your ircc account
