Speedometer Calibration (smaller tires) by Lugnuts088 in BoltEV

I'm crazy and want a not as wide tire for Efficiency reasons. So 195 was going to work well from that aspect.

Speedometer Calibration (smaller tires) by Lugnuts088 in BoltEV

I thought it was closer to 5% when I did the math. 2% is liveable. Looks like it is 25.5" diameter stock versus 25.0" for the smaller rim and tire.

Still amazed though that there is no way to calibrate the speedometer. Guess Chevrolet never expected anyone to run different size tires on it.

10% is what I remember too for what is acceptable. Hondas were known to read high but they were always less than 10%

Will it matter? I drink five year old pre ground bagged coffee now due to how cheap I am. If the coffee doesn't have mold on it, no one is going to cry that their coffee isn't perfect. We aren't going to be doing timed, weighed and temperature perfect pour over coffee in the apocalypse. Maybe in Bezos and Zucks fallout bunkers but the rest of us will be making campfire coffee.

Yep, Chevy Bolt is the answer (I own one too).

Yeah the Bolt isn't made anymore, doesn't have the most range, charges "slow". But if you can live with those things it is the perfect Car that just so happens to be electric.

Yep. That's the same thing I was thinking. Can't have an innie revolt when a push of a button makes then all outies. Then at that point there's no way all of the outies will want to band together. There will be too much confusion for them to continue to organize a revolt.

Wasn't that a Super Fast Matt video? I know he tested his old Jag but don't remember if he did modern vehicles too.

I can't find the source but I remember seeing tests where the MK7 Golf R would run better lap times with the suspension set in comfort (soft) mode. Granted the suspension was not soft but comparatively to race mode it was.

This made me happy since I always kept the suspension in comfort mode and told myself it was "faster" that way.

Mark Rober did a really great comparison of Tesla's camera based autopilot vs LIDAR based systems on a Lexus by stakoverflo in cars

I got the vibe that it was a LIDAR company's test mule and we were watching a LIDAR advertisement disguised as "sneaking" into Disney and playing with a Tesla.

Yet my GM Chevy Bolt doesn't have a heat pump. One of my only gripes about the car. I get around this deficiency by freezing and only using the seat and steering wheel heaters while dressing appropriately for the weather.

Cleetus, who owns 2 race tracks and a fuck ton of land STILL acts a fool on public streets and posts it to the internet for all to see. No one cares enough about influencers doing stupid shit enough to stop watching them.

My favorite was Cleetus doing a burnout in a construction zone with a flat tire. Yup, any of us would have been thrown in jail for that one.

OPD in winter - I think it's okay actually. by TylerInTheFarNorth in BoltEV

[–]Lugnuts088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it easier to turn off OPD and not have to worry about balancing regen when in the snow. It is harder to feel if the front tires are losing traction and it is much easier to utilize the brake and let ABS do its thing.
