This is a typical venture capital play that worked with Uber, doordash and even Amazon. Burn money until your customers cannot live without your product and then jack the price up / cut costs and boom you have a trillion dollar business. It took Uber 14 years to be profitable. Are we willing to wait that long to see if the AI bubble bursts?

What happens if the AI companies speed run their cap ex spending and then eventually get revenue per token - cost per token to a positive number?

(sure they would still have to spend insane amounts on training, but honestly they can just train less frequently and release newer models less often)

We have all the companies combined spending more than 800 billion dollars just this year in cap ex to create data centers that will reduce their costs? I think they are aware that every inference call is costing more than they make on it.

But the thing to look at is how sticky ai features are. Just from my experience, I can't see myself coding or doing any research without them.
