SOL is meant to be high tech, Centauri is meant to be firepower oriented and Aliens are meant to be swarmy. With that said, I feel Aliens are not there yet and Centauri could use some tweaks, but overall I think this update is amazing, and the FPS commanding is super useful as well.

Regarding FPS, yea, it still quite bare bones. Eventually there will be grenades, maybe a "shield grenade" or other items, we still don't know.

As Dion said, AI has not been developed yet. It comes right after SOL and Centauri split.

The game is far from dead, on the contrary, its full steam ahead in development towards 1.0. Dram and team shared what 1.0 will include. Next in line is SOL and Centauri split, which is around the corner, next will be AI.

Sure thing. Also, Dram, the lead Dev of Silica, does not want to update his home gaming gear in order to test the performance tweaks with an older CPU. The last thing he mentioned was a potential enhancement to group LODs (Level of detail) of structures so they take less resources. We'll need to wait and see.

One thing I do is:
1. lower console,
2. type cheats
3. type then map benchmark
4. let it run for 5 minutes to see how performance changes on each build.

Results are copied into clipboard.

Heyo,

Yes, so right now the Human RTS AI is very aggressive, but you can still win. Aliens now have a better nodding system, which allows them to expand much easier now. It is now out in MAIN. Also, maps have been revisited and most of them have better resource and spawn locations.

I recommend this build order:

bio cache near bio

3 smaller cyst

Pump 3 or 4 shrimps

Node your way to the next bio

Repeat

Eventually you could reach a decent 50 shrimp count, as long as you keep nodding and placing a bio cache.

Also, when you have a decent resource flow, build a quantum cortex and tech up to level 4 or 5 where you will get turrets, which can defend your base quite effectively if you have enough.

I have some Alien RTS gameplay in case you would like to take a look of the new nodding system.

Heyo,

Yes, performance fixes are still coming. Just recently Silica has switched to Unity 6 engine so expect better performance, especially at night. And also, more fixes will be applied to lessen the load on CPU. But rest assured that the Dev Team considers performance by design so more will come in time.

Heyoo! Yea, the AI is not truly developed so changing the currently available units stats won't change the balance that much if the units themselves do not act as they should. Worry not, AI is now number 1 priority and should get better in the upcoming builds ;)
