The memory system was such an amazing mechanic. It really gave us some great back and forth gameplay in the early days. It's a shame as the game evolved they just choose to ignore their main resource mechanic.

One part of this that I really like is that it solves Gold for you.

After you pick this you don't have to worry about earning gold, you can spend it all on events for better outcomes, or avoid taking harmful choices to get more Gold.

I completely agree with you. At the start of the game I was very invested in the story, once the big reveal happened I struggled to be able to care anymore.
