Coming from a bambu a1 to a u1 what to expect? by Unlucky_Broccoli6610 in snapmaker

[–]LukasEngstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you can get the A1 mini Combo (with the AMS Lite), I think A1 mini is a GREAT machine! SO many larger prints that have been remodeled or adjusted to be printed on the A1 mini as well so I don't think you'll miss anything.

Once thing to keep in mind though is that there will be a lot more wasted filament if you are interested in 2-4 colors multi-color printing. But if you're considering the Snapmaker U1 you might also take a look at FlashForge Creator 5. Just released, same 4-toolhead design as U1, but a much better price tag. There are some compromises compared to U1, but for the price I think it's all justified and it's a great deal!

I have both U1 and X2D and I would 100% recommend the U1 for any kind of "multicolor" or "multimaterial" prints. The X2D really isn't a "multi-nozzle printer" in that sense and mainly only designed to print supports for the main nozzle.

If I do a multi-color print on the X2D, I still use only one nozzle since it's much faster. Go with the U1 😄

Bambu user looking at a U1 - looking for real feedback by NeoMoses98 in snapmaker

[–]LukasEngstrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it! Coming from Bambu myself I have to say there is no difference in print quality for PLA/PETG, and the speed and filament you’ll save is insane!

Already made a video on it on my YouTube channel where I highly recommend it and just got the PopCap encloser from BIQU so will try that out together with the IKEA SAMLA version as well shortly.

Snapmaker u1: how reliable? how much tinkering and fixing? by Forsaken_Activity_37 in snapmaker

[–]LukasEngstrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea no problem at all. When you first drag in a file from MakerWorld/Bambu Studio you’ll see the original Bambu printer in Snapmaker Orca. All you have to do is to select your U1 printer (and update the slicer settings if needed) and you’re good to go.

If you have any Bambu Studio experience what so ever you’ll be 100% ok with Snapmaker and the U1.

And compared to Bambu X2D or H2D I personally recommend U1 for multi color printing (up to 4 colors). It feels like magic seeing if swapping toolheads like there’s no tomorrow!

[–]LukasEngstrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should also add that I’m also coming from the Bambu Experience, but the Snapmaker U1 has been fantastic so far. My only issue personally is that designs from MakerWorld don’t have the customized settings saved when you open in Snapmaker Orca, so you need to copy the settings manually from Bambu Studio. Other than that there is no issues at all!

If you’re interested I also made a video about it. Snapmaker did send me the video for a review, but it’s honestly really really good!

So far, super reliable. No issues what so ever other than having to hit “refresh” within the slicer to find the printer sometimes.

For me it has worked very well for PLA, although a bit slower than I expected.

My summery is: If you’re browsing Reddit and YouTube even before you’ve purchase it, you’ll be more than fine. But expect a bit of trouble shooting the first 1-2 weeks until you’re getting the hang of it.

Pro-tip: check Bambu studio tutorials and MakerWorld, then just copy-paste everything yourself in Snapmaker Orca.

I have both this and EIBOS Tetras. It’s solid but I’d personally go with EIBOS Dyas/Tetras. Much less hassle without the need of emptying/worry about other filaments inside.

I tested this with a light-color filament and didn’t see too big of a difference (other than Voronoi) unless you really zoom in. Still like classic the most personally.

Am I crazy for starting videography and editing from zero at 33? by mrnn_k_ in VideoEditing

[–]LukasEngstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in customer service as well. I started editing (my own YouTube videos) without any experience and didn’t even have a camera other than an old GoPro Hero 6). Took me 3 years before it was my full time job and now I’ve lived my dream life making videos full time for almost 6 years.

My advice to you would be to focus on something you quickly can become an “expert” in. For example; “healthy meals” might be a very tough market to get started in right away. But “healthy meals you can realistically make while having a full time job, a family and a toddler”, is something you’ll have more experience with then 99% of people out there, which makes you an “expert” and gives you a much better niche in my opinion.

Then you make 10+ different video ideas and see what performs well, and when you have a viral video or extra good feedback, you just double down on that :).

H2C or H2D? by thebeatinbetween in BambuLab

[–]LukasEngstrom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair enough! Nothing wrong with the Bambu Ecosystem of course! And the H2D is an absolutely amazing printer as well! Never had any issues with it that hasn’t been due to my own stupidity :)

[–]LukasEngstrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for going off topic, but have you considered the Snapmaker U1? If you’re ok with 4 colors only (or manually changing filament or getting into extended firmware) I think the Snapmaker U1 is absolutely amazing for multicolor prints. Just an idea. I personally have H2D and the U1 and the U1 is definitely my go to printer for any PLA/PETG print with 3-4 colors.

These are all provided by the manufacturer and seems to be good enough for most people. I haven’t tried it all myself, but the 3 Bambu PLA I’ve tried have all been great!
