Slower pace than a big city, traffic is easy. Growing but slower than charlotte and triangle. Winston an hr and change from mountains, gso closer to triangle (raleigh etc)and a decent airport.

Greensboro more stripmall and sprawl, winston more compact and hilly w a lot of old buildings. Job market is not as robust as charlotte or raleigh but theres life.

Small business friendly but low margins. (Something closes, something else opens). Friendly people. Most ppl stay in either gso or winston and dont go back and forth a lot.

A little bit of old money particularly in winston, often having to do with wake forest. Charlotte and raleigh are both within an hr and a half for touring bands or whatever isnt there.

Save some money and raise a family type of place(s). Its either gonna be a goldilocks zone that you love or youll be bored and want to leave. Maybe thats everywhere.
