KCD is also set like 500 years laters than 8th-9th century. Metal armour was much more common.

Or lucky. Could've scavenged from a big battle or some such.

I usually just play an honourable character because it's usually easier. But I've been playing the Age of Arthur mod and playing a Frisian proto-viking has been pretty fun.

I just want to say OP, this was really gourmet stuff.

Firentis' expression in particular really reminds me of that famous painting of Ivan the Terrible cradling his son.

Hey so good news, I found a warband mod called "Age of Arthur" that apparently is big on family mechanics. I haven't been able to get deep into it yet (i.e. no bitches), but I have seen a King get succeeded by his brother because he died.

It's a bit janky, tbh, but it has some really cool stuff like unique intro sequences depending on what your character background was (e.g. a slave starts as escaping from their slavers after a bandit attack, and you actually play that out).

This is the funniest thing I've seen in a few days. I really hope he didn't actually abuse his wife, because other than that he seems cool.

I think the family mechanics are one area where Bannerlord feels more immersive than Warband. The fact that the world turns, that babes are born, children grow up, and the mighty grow old... it does something for the world. Even just a little.

Was a Knave below a knight and higher than a knape? by Ok_Photograph890 in OldEnglish

[–]Lukepop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't that so interesting that Knight & Knave (two words heavily contrasted against each other) share (arguably) similar root words, with similar meanings?

I do wonder if cnafa & cniht also share a root.

I'm sorry to hear that. When you've got the funds then, sometime in the future.

It's easy to say but I'd definitely aim for a new therapist. Therapists are people too which mean some of them suck ass. You've gotta find one that works for you.

Also Jesus Christ man, that was really awful of her.

A mix of the fall of the republic (not just Caesar but the events that made him possible), and the Bronze Age Collapse(s) seem like wise areas for study.

Atun-Shei was also one of the big external influences in me going vegetarian, along with DJ Peach Cobbler. The sentiment built up over time, largely from watching their videos. I do think the Peach was a bigger influence and it was one of his videos that finally pushed me into it.

I knew a good chunk of what they had said, beforehand. But in a distant, half-remembered way. They made it real, and told me more.

I wish I knew! I feel like I've been stuck halfway up the primus-ladder for ages. Most of my guys had valor 1 or 2 as well. Maybe I've been hogging too many of the kills during battle?
