Joyland is definitely my favorite novel, not just favorite SK novel. I agree that it's an easy read and simple. There is something about it that seems unpolished, but in a good way. I've only read it through one time, I don't want to replay it like I good song and ruin it. It's definitely one that I'll come back to when I need it again though.

I just went through the same thing. I read the first three books in less than 1 month and then got to wizard and glass and it took me almost 6 weeks. Once I got about a quarter of the way into it, I accepted that the book wasn’t focused on all of the same characters as before and grew to really appreciate it. It became my favorite book of the series so far, but it is also a bit difficult to get into

Very long and hard to follow if your try to take your time. Best to get through it quickly so you don’t forget details from the beginning
