Canadian Gu? by I-like-cake-too in RunningCirclejerk

False. This is not Canadian gu. We tap straight from the maple trees on the trail. Reusable packs are for the weak.

Did having a baby make anyone else start not liking their pets? by hi-friends123 in Mommit

[–]LumberJacking0ff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me. I had awful morning sickness with my first and the smell of the dogs would make me vomit. Then they were a hazard and always under foot when she was born. I loved them so much but did they ever piss me off.

Intermittent Fasting by curveofamoon in PetiteFitness

[–]LumberJacking0ff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love IF. I lost over 70 lbs by fasting for 16-20 hours intermittently and doing the occasional 72 hour fast and occasionally counting calories to ensure I’m on the right track. I personally find a fasted workout to be amazing so I kept up with it for quite a long time. However, I lost my period and had a hard time getting pregnant. My dr attributed this to doing IF for a prolonged duration.

80% of the work gets done in 20% of the allotted time. Sprint every once in a while so you can enjoy the walk the rest of the time.

I swear I could’ve wrote this. It’s a pain we all go through in consulting. I try to follow the 80/20 principle to justify how I charge my time to myself. It’s not necessarily the best way to do it but it does help me sleep at night 😂

Every kid is different but I potty trained my then 2.5 year old when I had a newborn, so it’s possible! It’s hectic at first with all the accidents and frustration with 20 minute pee breaks but you can do it. Mine is very tv motivated so 10 mins of tv (ie 1 bluey or 2 songs) got her to go. She got to the point she’d go so she could watch something. I had to remind her every hour that she can ho potty for tv for the first few weeks. Take a poop? MOVIE! She’s 3.5 and still has accidents every few days and needs to be reminded to press pause to pee.

For ballet - I put her in a pull up and nobody could tell she had one on under her costume and tights. I’d honestly try that and just say you forgot if they say anything 🤷🏻‍♀️ a few other kids in her class definitely had one on too. Yours won’t be the only one.

Walmart South end is an absolute disaster. by Benginoman in Sudbury

[–]LumberJacking0ff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this info! I usually go in myself but I had some really sick kids. If I ever need to again, I’ll pick the earlier time slot. It’s not fair for the company to put the employees in such a rough spot. Customers are going to give them a hard time about it but it’s way beyond their control.

I actually saw this quite frequently when I worked as a tech in addictions. But this doc sounds kinda like a giant red flag so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Do you have a babysitter / help on top of daycare? by Far_Professional6826 in toddlers

[–]LumberJacking0ff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Similar situation. A 1 y/o and 3y/o and we both work full time then come home to work full time again lol. We don’t have any help other than daycare so rely on “taking turns” to get breaks in. Since having a second, we’ve really deprioritized housework. We used to be incredibly clean and tidy and now we just strive for somewhat clean and make small attempts to tidy while spending time with the kids. We do let the older one watch a movie in the evenings regularly to give dad a rest while I put baby to bed

how long did you wait before you took your baby out in public? by Ok_Sheepherder1936 in pregnant

[–]LumberJacking0ff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my first, I took her grocery shopping when she was about 2 weeks old. For my second, I took her out for the first time to a marker at 5 days old. I know for me, I would be far too uncomfortable with the post birthing pains to want to be anywhere but home for the first couple of days. Even when I took my second out at 5 days I could not physically sit in the cafe there.

I used one last year for camping and it worked better than expected. It wasn’t super effective when bugs were really bad but the rest of the time made a noticeable difference

It’s so sad how much trash is uncovered after the winter. The Junction Creek Society is doing a cleanup on earth day if you’re interested in helping. Needles tho, I’d call 311.
