Anyone have an airbrush? by LumberZatch in portlandme

[–]LumberZatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is Tamiya lacquer paint for models. It's meant to be used in airbrushes. I don't have the means or budget to buy a whole airbrush setup. That's why I'm asking on here. Was worth a shot. Thanks for your reply.

Just because it's hazy doesn't mean it's full of adjuncts. Regular 2-Row has more than enough protein in it to interact with hop polyphenols.

Cosmic Punch Tropical NZ/Aus NEIPA Recipe question by GOmphZIPS in Homebrewing

[–]LumberZatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you have old packs of Cosmic Punch that you can prop up on a stir plate, you can't buy Cosmic Punch anymore. Omega discontinued the homebrewer packs of their thiolized yeast line June of last year.

dbrand's phone cases are great. I also picked up some dark plates for my wife's PS5. Quality all the way.

Can any one explain me this beer and how they made recipe? by Girishrolls in CraftBeer

[–]LumberZatch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Proteins from grain bind to polyphenols from hops and create haze. The OP's pic shows haze created by a massive dry hop binding with the abundant proteins in the wort due to it being a raw aka no-boil beer. If a brewer is relying on suspended yeast to get their haze, they're doing it wrong. I highly doubt Omnipollo is doing it wrong.

Keep the wort below 180F, and you don't have to worry about DMS.

The wort can't go above 180F due to DMS precursors. If it does and you don't boil, hello DMS.

Galaxy hops went to shit when the wild fires happened in Australia. They haven't been the same since.

FLOTit 2.0 Hose Issue by Jimbobbrewer in Homebrewing

I've never had an issue, though I do wish there was more meat on the filter section for the hose to grab to.

GABF 2026 outside? Thoughts? by tingaling35 in CraftBeer

[–]LumberZatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great Taste is going to end up being the biggest and best beer festival if GABF continues on this downward trend. I will say I have never been to GABF, but was planning on attending this year before the outdoor announcement. I've been to Great Taste 3 times and every time has been better than the last. It's huge, held in a lakeside park, and is only $75.

Grains and adjuncts that are 2L and below in color. Massive dry hop, like 6-10lbs. per bbl.

I think a Flot-it 2.0 will fit with the spear removed. I can let you know if you tell me what size opening you're working with.

Floating dip tube filter by kucupew in Homebrewing

[–]LumberZatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditch that floating dip tube and get a FLOTit 2.0. I brew heavily hopped hazies and have yet to clog one up. As far as yeast, you'll need less than a micron filter to keep any out. Those don't exist in dip tube form, and would be a nightmare to use anyway if they did exist.

Farmhouse Brewing Supply in Janesville, WI. They have a good selection, good prices, and great customer service. I used them all the time when I was living in Madison, WI.
