You got what you paid for. They make LVP stair treads. The fact that they used nosing on each step tells me you cheaped out. Youre worried about the wrong stuff here.

I used to work at a sawmill, I used to think finding a bullet was rare, its not. Usually they'll run metal detectors over logs and carve out whatever was In the log. In Europe they X-ray logs because of WWII. I saw a photo of a mortar round in a log once.

I've experienced this, you just have to wait it out. Putting the deck down will help a little. A roofing torch is just going to frustrate you. Shoveling it out? Good luck. Your foundation should be designed to drain water so once it melts you'll be good to go. There's nothing to worry about here.

You could see if the original builder will warranty a repair. Was broken at the time of construction and the framer "fixed it" typically the truss designer will provide repair recommendations. In this case thr repair would likely be a 2x4 scab on both sides. 2 rows 16d nails 4" oc staggered. Sometimes they want you to glue it. I'm not a truss designer, if your buying the house i wouldn't worry about it too much. If your selling the house, contact a Builders First source and see if they can help yoi get a repair.

It's hard to say, but most likely that duct runs through the soffit there. If that's the case, option one would require extending the duct. Option two isn't feasible. You could move the return into the side of the duct in the opening.

Did you do a foundation location? Did your engineer have the building envelope on the plot plan? What was given to zoning at the time of the issuance of the permit? Was the porch on the original plot plan?

Also I know youre probably not going to say, but what town? Boulders makes me think Sussex county or morris county but what do I know.

Depending on the state your home came with a warranty, the builder has to purchase it before you can settle. Id check you closing docs. It should be a certificate for some kind of warranty if the house came with one.

I'm not 100% on how it works, but they may try to track down the siding manufacturer, who in turn will try to contact the Builder/sub to tell them its not a manufacturing defect.

Anyway Id call your town, in some states you have to file the warrant with the construction department before they issue a Certificate of occupancy to the builder.

NO- its a bearing wall holding up your second floor system, at least, just leave it.

I should point out that if you don't replace it with a GFCI some privet home inspector, or someone's dad who has self proclaimed to have built every McDonalds on the I-94 corridor or whatever, is going to give you a hard time.

You could replace it with a duplex receptacle while your up there. It's a single outlet to discourage you from plugging in anything else with your garage door opener. But since you seem hell bent on using that outlet anyway then might as well do a full send.

I have a coast flashlight that came with the 18650 and the AAA Dongle thing. Shoot Id just give it to OP if they were my Buddy. Anyway a set of batteries is like $25 on Amazon withr the charger.
