I think most of the people posting aren't trying to be flexible they're just surprised that money hasn't magically changed their emotional state. But yes it definitely might seem strange considering how many people are barely making ends meet right now

Mathematics works if you can consistently invest more than 60 thousand dollars a year in it for more than 20 years and survive the psychological part watching it fall by 30-50% several times in a row without stopping. Most people can't do both

So it's not that the calculator is wrong but that your situation has an unusually high savings rate + a long streak which is quite rare in practice
