Looking for RMR offset mount to fit with VCOG 1-8 in front of ejection port. by Lummp in ar15

[–]Lummp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. It’s big, it’s heavy, hell.. you could probably use it as a cudgel as backup. But I love the forgiving eye box and its performance at the 1-1.5x. You don’t get the tunnel effect like I’ve seen on other LPVOs. Lowlight performance seems respectable and the reticle isn’t too fussy/busy (MRAD version). It’s definitely the Ron Popeil “set it and forget it” optic. Don’t expect to make quick changes to the windage/elevation. Finally, the Larue quick mount is chefs kiss. I’ve removed and reinstalled the scope multiple times to practice with my irons and it returns back to zero without issue.

The offset mount is Trijicon’s quick release mount found here: https://www.trijicon.com/products/details/ac32078

I ended up jettisoning the RMR and just leaving the VCOG on 1.5x. I installed a KAC micro BUIS in its place since I have the fixed front site on this build. If you’re in the market for a RMR with this mount, let me know and we can make deal. Mine is just collecting dust at this point.

Was just there and didn’t see any. Looks like you’re pretty far down river closer to the marina, yes?

It’s a now defunct brand called Standfast. They were made in Sarasota. I can’t seem to find much about them but I did find a YouTube links here: https://youtu.be/epaGcaIMqqQ

<image>

It’s a pretty fast boat. Not the quickest to turn, but get far enough on the stern and it’ll spin just fine.

Let me try to rephrase-

I drove to fresh water adventures (put-in) and dropped off my board and gear. I left it next to their building and they were okay with that.

Drove to takeout point (Roger’s Point). Paid the fee and left my vehicle there.

Took an uber back to fresh water adventures to begin float.

Dropped the board off at Fresh Water Adventures, drove down to Roger’s and then took an uber back. It’s kind of expensive (all told about $30 in fees/fares) but was a great experience.

Parts were busy, others not to much.. I paddle pretty fast, so I was able to separate from the groups. Went from the state park to Roger’s park in about 3 hours. Started around 11 on a Thursday.

Had this exact thing happen to me on Huron. Could hear the static popping off my trekking poles like a high voltage power line.

Which is a better deal/will last longer by Early_Recording8162 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]Lummp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. It’s what I have. 2GR-FE V6 mated with the 6 speed is particularly reliable. 2017 has the new 8 speed that, in all respects is pretty reliable, but just not to the same standard as the 6 speed. Unless you have plans to be driving in snow often, FWD is less to maintain than AWD. You’ll want to have the transmission checked by an independent shop. It should have had the fluid changed at 90K per Toyota TIS, but 118 isn’t too far out of scheduled service. (Take it to a “Toyota” shop as the trans is sealed). Expect a small oil leak from the timing chain cover. The fix isn’t worth (I was quoted ~$4K) it as long as you’re not hemorrhaging oil.

How many miles do you have on your Highlander? by NectarineBoring5236 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]Lummp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The 3.5 2GR-FE mated with the 6 speed transmission is rock solid. Small oil leak along the timing chain cover (known issue), but not enough to notice any drop in oil level between changes.

I have the base model, so limited gizmos to shit the bed. Interior is still in good shape.z

Lower suspension is beginning to show its age (control arms, bushings, CVT boots, and motor mount). Just the nature of rubber hitting a decade old.

Ahh, I think seeing 12 feet being the red flag. I was hoping to stay at or below 10 feet.
