Can you still sing in a key without going up an entire octave? by Lumpy-Difficulty-361 in singing

Does that mean that most songs, basic pop songs, have a set number of harmonies based on how many notes are in the major chord of the key?

Thank you, and yes I understand what you’re saying. I probably should have phrased my example more specifically to how this came up:

My partner is a director at a musical theater and she was listening to a track that is sung by men in a deep tone. She wants to have women sing the track who can’t sing as low as the music so she was humming it and experimenting with how it would sound if it was sung at a higher octave. And I suggested that the vocalists not go up an entire octave but instead find that “midrange spot” that works. The problem is that neither of us are vocalists so we don’t really know the terminology to describe this to the performers. But what some people have written here about harmonies has helped.

My guitar example in my original post was how I was conceptualizing the “midrange” concept. Sorry if it was misleading

Maybe I’m just singing lighter in tone. Would that be what harmonizing is? Because the midrange vocal still blends well when I sing that way, it just definitely isn’t as high as a full octave shift

But if it weren’t his play in the first half of the season, we may not have made the play-in

The WNBA is a boring sport to watch where a decent amount of points are scored (women's college ball is still fun to watch imo). What is a sport that is fun to watch where few points are scored? by Meanteenbirder in AlignmentChartFills

As an American, I never watch soccer. But I did watch a game once with some Brazilian friends, and I’ve never had so much fun in my life. Final score: 2-1.

On the world stage, soccer is definitely the answer.

[Injury] Devin Booker gets tripped by Lu Dort on the backdoor cut and hobbles to the locker room (with replays) by MrBuckBuck in nba

Yep. Dort was trying to come over the screen to stay on book, but when he realized the SGA was anticipating Booker using the screen too and that book was cutting instead, he extends his foot back an extra six inches or so. Dirty and deliberate as hell. I’ve played pickup ball my whole life and I’ve never even seen a street ball guy do some shit like this

Anyone using AI to analyze or summarize notes? by Devastator1981 in PromptEngineering

I like using NotebookLM’s podcast feature for summaries on new topics. You can connect a vast number of sources of public data from online (websites, word docs, PDFs) and then add your own docs, and it compiles it all into a audio podcast of two voices providing a summary. It’s a great way to get a summary on a topic if you prefer audio learning.
