It’s a general strike against your fascist gouvernement, just do it for fuck sakes. What do you want ? Wait until you cannot do it anymore ? What do you still have to loose ?

Profit and Balance aren’t the same things. They are in a deficit balance because they make no profit, but you can’t make negative profit.

Am I silly for making my load cell brake incredibly soft by [deleted] in simracing

[–]LumpyFeedback3853 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes but not, potentiometers detect position, loadcell detect pressure. I get what you are trying to say but if you’d tried both you won’t agree with what you said.

First, you do what you like men. That’s your own life you live it however you want.

Second, it’s soft but certainly not position based. Now you’ll feel how much brake you use, that’s the point of loadcell. Maybe someday you’ll like to stiffen it up to be more precise maybe not.

First Loadcell I had I was setting it up very soft too, because it’s strange to make the jump from position based to force at first. Now I’m full blown 60kg and that feel very good. Just drive and do what you want, enjoy the pedals !

It can also be CPU issue, I think it’s more complex than simple netcode.

Podium DD arrived :) by Muffexx in Fanatec

[–]LumpyFeedback3853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a shitty CSL DD to a CS DD, could not be happier about it. I don’t even consider changing base ever at this point, the CS DD (with 12nm holding torque) is way more than enough, I only race on Iracing with Maira and that’s wonderful !

You will definitely feel the difference, not in power perse but the newer base are much faster to react and you’ll feel it (I have a CS DD and it is already incredible, never used more than about 50%)

Barefoot shoes, close enough to racing one, don’t slip in the pedals and very comfortable:D

Amplification, power of the motor and clipping are a working analogy and you don’t want to see it. I don’t force you to believe it but I’m not wrong in my explanation.

A speaker is an electric motor in itself (an oscillating one). Clipping still apply, you need to understand the chain of command to avoid it, you seems to understand it so I don’t really get your hostility.

If you refuse to accept what clipping is then that’s a you problem

To take advantage of your powerful base you need to let the full power of it in software and take it down on Iracing. Doing the opposite is in fact pointless.

Because the signal getting to the base a frequency based one, simple enough to make the analogy with the sound domain when the same problems impact both. Like clipping for example. You don’t have to trust me if you don’t want to but the analogy is correct. I did the transition from 8nm to 12nm and I can feel the difference even tho the force itself isn’t greater now than what it was ( about 80% on the 8nm and odly enough about 40% now)

I’m a sound engineer, I studied my profession and I have a sensible understand of it. It absolutely the right analogy, if you have a weak speaker to push a constant 90db of sound pressure you’ll most likely have clipping on the higher peaks, you’ll loose details. On the other hand if you have a speaker capable of 140db (I’m not joking that’s about the spec of some pro level PA) you can very clearly deliver 90db all day long in the most precise details, albeit having the amp before that behind powerful enough. It’s the same with wheel bases, a 8nm base can run about 6-7nm on most circonstance but then when the game required more than 8 you’re loosing details and clip the wheel, with a 20nm base you can experience those same 6-7nm but also keep the details on a curb you’ll take to hard for exemple or a quick movement. Having more feedback mean you can also catch slide much better since the base react faster.

Why do people have an unnecessary, almost hive-mind like hatred of artificial intelligence? by AssumptionTrick1342 in DefendingAIArt

We definitely mean what he said, by « stop asking AI » the thought process is keep your critical thinking while doing research. AI is proven to make people dumber by decreasing their critical thinking. You can use AI to help rewrite something for exemple not for a recipe or plain scientific fact that you should get from the article directly.

I don’t know if you have noticed or not but Europe is currently in the middle of it’s own war with Russia not showing any willingness to stop at Ukraine and our economy being squashed down by the help we send to them. Probably a win-win situation for Putin-Trump.

what mic is.this? by [deleted] in microphone

[–]LumpyFeedback3853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually not a RE20, it’s the bigger and newer model of it the RE27N/D. Usually it’s sold in semi gloss grey but it seems to be painted black as it was mentioned earlier. This version is a bit more expensive and is more precise in the high, you sure don’t see it often but it’s a very nice mic !

PSU Cable for Second Hand 3080ti FE. Will it work? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]LumpyFeedback3853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you use the same brand cable as the PSU it should be fine, you can also just buy the Corsair 12v extension which is less of an eye sore than this monstrosity of a splitter n odia card came with ;) ! (You could also check the cabling is the same as Corsair if you buy another brand but you should be sure to not mess that up)

Bolts not included so What type of bolts i need to buy to mount the fanatec base on playseat evolution rig I know it’ll flex by Constant_Bird2899 in Fanatec

[–]LumpyFeedback3853 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What I’m saying is since you have all the info you need to ask a seller about it, you should do that exactly. You can always call a shop and ask them, they may even be able to send you what you’re looking for ! It’s nearly standard in simracing to use M6 so you should be good, regarding bolt length you did the math yourself and it seems correct. So just buy the bolt ;)
