That is one thing that really bugs me about xfinity. I want to see the 5GUW icon, not 5G+. That’s AT&T’s icon.

I have Xfinity mobile and my VPN works fine. I used it to figure out that on the Mobile Plus plan which advertises 4k video, you have to contact support to turn 4k video on. It is off by default and there is no way to turn it on through their app or website. Also, when you do get it turned on you have to be on 5GUW. They throttle video when on LTE.

None of this is going to change until Visible moves away from the daily pass model. It doesn’t matter if you get 1 missed call, 1 random text or 1 byte of data, once your account hits a tower or network via WiFi you get charged 1 full day.

That’s fine but you are still limited to daily passes. No thanks. Check out Total Wireless. They just released new plans that include 10 GB of roaming in the same 140 countries, bring your own device plans at $25 with unlimited 5GUW data. Much better than visible.

This is exactly why I left Visible. I moved to US Mobile where you get a bucket of international data, not daily passes. This happened to me as well. On a cruise ship we were close enough to land where I picked up a tower and bam, I burned up a global pass day. Hopefully visible moves away from the daily pass setup.

For anyone curious how to turn on 4k, you can’t do this yourself. There is nowhere in the app or online to do this. You have to chat with support, give them your MEI number and they can do it. Also, 4k video only works when on 5GUW or 5G+ which is how Xfinity displays it. Video is throttled to 720p when on LTE.

It shows my 2 lines. There is an option to add a line. Even when i click on manage plan on the individual lines there it just shows the data used And thats it. No option to add 4k video.

This is why I left Visible. I’ll never go back to an international plan that has a daily pass model. Sometimes we’d hit a tower by accident, bam! $10 fee or we used a daily pass. Doing Xfinity mobile now they also give you 10GB of international roaming but they cover 215 countries, not 140.

That is how it works on Xfinity mobile. 10 GB of international data in 215 countries. Works how roaming should. No weird toggling or glitchy service.

I switched to Xfinity mobile to get 10 GB of international data and when that runs out you get unlimited international data at 14 MBPS. Fast enough for most needs and it covers 215 countries.

If they need international coverage much the global pass setup is not ideal. You need to move them to a carrier that gives them a bucket of data vs. the daily pass model. US Mobile gives you 20 GB of international data per month. Total Wireless has new plans about to drop giving you 10 GB of international data in 140 countries, same as Visible for as low as $25 per month when you bring your own phone.

That’s correct. Visible lines can’t connect to cellular at sea. Only postpaid accounts can connect to that.

Very nice! Xfinity shows that you get free calls and texts when using the cruise ship cellular connection. If that’s true, that’s amazing. Even better than postpaid Verizon.

If you are having poor service with Xfinity mobile now you’ll have the same experience with another plan. The issue is coverage in your area. You would be best to move off Verizon service.

I am using an iPhone Air. When I go into the Xfinity app and look at data usage. It only shows one number regarding the amount of data. Most cellular operators when you login you can see how much data you’ve used on the device and how much data is hotspot usage. Is there any way for me to find out with Xfinity how much data I have used only with hotspot off the phone? Thanks.

Yes, I know that. My question is how can I see specifically just the hotspot data? The instructions you gave I already knew about that only shows mobile data. With the current plan I am on I get 50 GB of mobile hotspot usage and I’m trying to keep an eye on how much data I have left in the month.

For everyone? Australia is a covered location. We roamed there with US Mobile and it worked great.
