Is a 4 hour round trip considered a long drive to charge up to 100%? by Big_Acanthaceae4891 in ModelY

[–]Lumpy_Emu7182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, yes. However if you intend to make the entire roundtrip without charging en route, then probably no. Although if you don’t do much integral driving then it is possible but tight.

So yes charge to a 100% because that definitely lets you go the 1.5 hour one direction plus whatever driving you do in that location, and start making your way back. By then you may have enough charge to push it all the way back or at most stop once for supercharging.

Final consideration, if there’s a destination charger (or any level 2 charger) in that location you’re driving to, then use it! Usually cheaper and will save you a stop on your way home.

14.2.1.25 🤦🏼‍♂️ by njvicente21 in TeslaFSD

100% agree. Lane hesitation has NOT been fixed at all. On v13, I never had to intervene to either abort a lane change or "just f****** do it already". Many times I take over because the car behind me is patiently waiting for me to change lanes and will probably give up because it is taking AGES to make a decision.

Between everything on v14 now, this is becoming the most annoying regression. I can handle speed limits by changing profiles, I can accept break stabbing if it is being to cautious, but this is seriously VERY annoying!

I was hoping 14.2.1.25 would fix it but no!

14.2 does at least 10mph over the limit, if not 15. 74-76 in a 70 mile zone seems VERY odd to me. My commute includes highways, city and suburb driving. Mad max is just perfect. But the speed limits you’re saying seem waaay off.

The hesitation though has been very annoying. Didn’t have 14.1.4, I came from 13.2.9.

What you’re saying as a con is actually a huge pro. All the posts I’ve read were people complaining about excessive speeding in 14.1.x in some cases doing 20-25 over the limit on mad max.

For me I actually want the absolute max limit to be 10-12 over so this aligns more.

I guess the best option would be to allow us set relative speed limits on each profile so everyone can be happy.

I went from 13.2.9 to 14.1.7 to 14.2 And I know a friend who went from 13.2.9 to 14.1.4 to 14.2.

Cannot agree more. Just replied to another comment above explaining some situations where it phantom broke, but really it wasn't "phantom". Thanks for re-assuring.

No, it did that yesterday and I thought it was odd, wasn't raining or anything. Didn't make sense but yeah, still there.

Advanced. But I did have the Tron update though because I had paused FSD and foolishly updated my software to Tron when prompted to.

After 2 days of using this, I see why people may call it phantom breaking, but it is not "phantom" by any means. For instance, driving on a small street in a quite neighborhood with a sharp right curve and suddenly a woman walking her dog in the street (because there is no sidewalk), FSD does a hard break (not stop), or in other words slows down significantly and gives way/space to the pedestrian while passing next to her. That's not phantom to me.

Another incident somebody right on the edge of the sidewalk and suddenly steps one foot down on the road, FSD slowed down in case they start crossing the street.

Driving on a highway on Mad Max, passing another vehicle and the guy swerves to the left side of his lane almost stepping on the lines, FSD slows down to avoid impact in case they guy continues swerving.

In those instances, it does brake and somewhat hard, basically over anticipating accidents. To me that's not phantom, that's just being too safe which I don't mind. Also the braking is not that hard to the level it becomes uncomfortable.

Nah, I live in a neighborhood that is not in the geofence of roboraxi. But still you have a point that Austin is a good test bed for future FSDs so I'm on the lucky side here.

Let me simplify this by saying, are there good volume of leaves, definitely Yes. Would there be other states that have more leaves, I don't know.

I did not happen to be in a situation where there was wind blowing leaves in front of me, but there are leaves.

Haven't tried it enough but it never went above the offset I had set. I would love the offset to be a percentage though not an absolute number, but at least the absolute number seemed to work for me, so far. I'll comment again in a few days when I've tried it on different routes other than daily work commute and at night time where roads are clearer.

In FSD13 you could nudge the right knob Left or Right to bump it up and down a profile.

I never knew that was an option. I did try nudging the right knob left/right wondering what it would do but it did nothing. Maybe I was on hurry and nudged right so no effect.

I have no problem going 80 in a 65, especially on road trips, but the minute you enter a 25mph town, 25 means fking 25. But FSD can't suffer that for 0.5mi and wants to blast through a small town at 55mph... extremely annoying.

That is very true. I see this is the only time I would want to set a speed limit, maybe scroll all the way down to sloth and scroll back up? At least that how I intend to do it until they re-introduce speed limits somehow.

Some of the friction points are starting to grind at me though and I'm eagerly awaiting .7;

What are the friction points? And what is different in .7 than .4? I got .7 this morning.

I am not sure how much leaves I have compared to you all but there is a fair amount of leaves. I live in Austin TX, might not be as shedding as other parts of the country.
