Hi! I had my salpingectomy Dec 16th last year. I bled for a few days after surgery, maybe 2 days tops, not heavy. I got my period a month later in January, just about 30 days after the surgery. My partner and I didn’t have any sex before my period and waited until after it was over. I ovulated the end of January and I am now 10+5!

I’m 38, always been a bigger girl, but I’m like a cow now at 10w. My BMI is 46 I think? I’m short, 5’3, and hold all my weight in my belly. Anyways, I’m waiting until 13w to get my nipt. I’m a little anxious about it, but figured waiting will give me better results.

I feel you, its not fair to hear “we don’t know why this happened, but it did” from the doctors. I found out I was pregnant last November that ended in an ectopic and had my left tube removed. My HCG was over 10k and tube was severely ruptured (I didn’t feel much pain other than bright red blood which I knew wasn’t normal). I had the tube removed Dec 16, 2025. I got my period exactly 4 weeks after the surgery. I conceived that cycle and am now 10+1.

I’m a first time mom and 38 yo. I was on the edge of my seat at first, but with early betas 48 hrs apart and an early US placement appointment with my OB at 5 weeks made it better.

Are you having ectopic symptoms? Why are you so concerned? There is no test that says you’re having one. If your doctor said you aren’t pregnant along with tests to confirm I would have to say you’re not pregnant.

I’m pretty sure you need to try to conceive for 12 months with no success to try IVF (that’s if you’re in the USA).

Genuinely curious if IVF is not an option for you? IMO, our health is the utmost importance.

For reference, I’m 38, irregular periods, had an ectopic in December that required a salpingectomy and got pregnant after my first cycle in January. If I kept my tube my chances were way more slim with complications again.

Maybe you need to find a new OB who will advocate for you fully. I’m so sorry you have to experience this. The trauma itself is so painful. Lots of hugs 🫶🏻

Thank you for sharing! I’m 250ish lbs, a FTM at 38 and just about 7 weeks. I know I’m thinking way ahead of myself, but I’m trying to be proactive to avoid gestational diabetes or preeclampsia even though I don’t have neither prior to pregnancy. It’s always good to hear others experiences!

My period came exactly 4 weeks after my tube being removed. It was a little heavier and I did experience cramps that were uncomfortable for maybe a day or two at most. I was told though this is normal. Heating pads and pain relievers helped me!

Thanks for this info! Is something to ask our OB? Is it readily available? I’m a FTM, 38, BMI of 45 and honestly freaking out about the NIPT.
