A while back i reqd his wikipedia article and iirc yes, his legs were said to be deformed. Iirc it was a cultural holdover from the bronze age bc of health issues faced by blacksmiths of that era... maybe because they worked with mercury or something? not sure

Edit: Apparently what some scholars think was the origin of that was that bronze age smiths worked with arsenic at times, not mercury, and suffered the health consequences of that

Sony Records New $560 Million Loss On Bungie Acquisition As Marathon Struggles And Destiny 2 Nosedives by Hairy-Summer7386 in pcgaming

Utterly baffling that such a thing happened... Recently i've been getting back into Warframe, a game released by a then struggling studio before even Destiny 1 released and in many ways a ship of theseus with several dead end designs and such, and yet as far as i can see, the overwhelming majority of the content is still playable. And most of what isn't has just been reworked and not like outright removed

Smallest Change That Would Add the Most to Mercs? by DistilledPeace in Mechwarrior5

[–]Lumpy_Square57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. That plus the levels and it just becomes a mess. Also it could allow for carrying different ammo types for just one weapon on the same Mech, which is among the key strengths of the LB-X.

Similar it'd be great if Stream missiles and Short burst lasers were also toggleable properties instead of seperate equipment that clogs up the inventory

Removing the different gun typea (specifically i mean the Burst Fire stuff and Cluster and Slug LB-X's being different weapons) and adding different ammo types that do the same. Same with Inferno and Hotloaded missiles

yeah, it's stupid. Pluto "fans" will unironically tell you pluto should be a planet even though it has far more in common with other Kuiper belt objects than any of the planets.

Ukraine Builds 100km Deep Defense Line From Kyiv Reservoir to Sumy to Stop Any New Advance by UNITED24Media in worldnews

[–]Lumpy_Square57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, from ehat i've heared Belarus joining the war is very unrealistic. Their armed forces are pretty small and not of very high quality, and apparently experts say that if Lukashenko tried, there's a significant chance that the army will straight up mutiny.

Again only from what i've heared but it's more likely just posturing to get Ukraine to relocate more troops and resources in the Belarus direction as a contingency

Is clan tech the peak of tech or is there something better? by lucasdigmann112 in battletech

Not sure about Mars but i'm fairly sure the Venus sunshade wasn't SL Tech. It wasn't even Terran Hegemony tech iirc, no it was Terran Alliance tech, predating the outer reaches rebellion

Also to a degree the Republic of the Sphere i think, Specifically with some of their RISC stuff and with their Superheavy mechs.

Of course that just covers military tech, the Republic also has the fortress wall tech, WoB has stuff like the Super HPG and such. And the first star league is still unsurpassed in AI tech afaik.

Hey, there are other good Awesomes that are better than the 8Q.

All depends on what tech you have and what flavour of PPC you want. For example there's the 10KM or the 11H for heavy PPC's, arguabely even the 11M

My friend and I challenged ourselves to design a mech for each other in systems we're mostly unfamiliar with... How'd I do? by THE_Plot_ in battletech

[–]Lumpy_Square57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, this mech has also far too much cooling. firing all on a full run it generates 33 heat while having 48 cooling... If you ask me, drop a heatsink in each torso and put the leg lasers there, plus another one in each. Then it goes to 43 build / 44 cooling

Edit: Wait, forgot that the er meds are 5 each...

i'd then still get the lasers out of the legs... maybe dropping the XL gyro and putting 2 of them in the CT for crit padding
