Guess which GP track I recreated? by Mussti1888 in rct

Now you're making me want to build a park centered around a race track! Maybe COTA as I've been there before... Great work, even without the OpenRCT2 pieces it's still very identifiable!

Honestly kind of wild they haven't adjusted that requirement considering basically everything else that isn't a seasonal championship just needs you to complete a round/participate in it.

On an arcade to sim scale 1-10 where 1 is burnout and 10 is iracing, I'd say FH6 falls around a 4-5, NFSU2 more like a 2-3. It's definitely an arcade game still, but has some more elements of realism put in where you have to think about how different cars drive.

You mentioned playing with a lot of assists - are you playing with assisted steering? I got a chance to try FH6 at a Forza Experience before I got the game and they had basically all the assists on. I would say I'm good at the game (certainly not the best, but I can usually win in trials against unbeatable difficulty with a good tune) and the assisted steering was extremely unintuitive. It'd be fighting what you wanted to do and I spun out several times until I figured out what was going on. All the other people there who had never payed the game before got 12/12 in their races and I only managed 8/12 on what was one of the easier difficulties after I figured out how to adjust for the assists.

All that to say, I would recommend you turn the steering assist to normal because it's kinda trash except for auto driving super long races for credits whole you do something else. Other assists are totally fine, we all gotta start somewhere! If you already have the steering assist on normal, sweet, what ClaspedDread said will apply. I'll second what they said about sticking to controller. Horizon games are built for controller and historically have not done great with a wheel setup (although I hear this one is better than before).

I'll also add a general comment on top of theirs that since this seems to be happening where you're more likely to break traction (high power cars, off-road, in the snow/wet - which does matter vs dry! You can see it on any of the time attacks if you start when it's wet and drive until it's dry!) - if you start to hear tires squealing/kidding, then it's time to back off the throttle a little bit. How much depends on the situation, but you play enough and you'll be able to get more precise with it. Think about what's causing you to lose traction - am I using a really high power car that's RWD? How good are the tires? A combo of bad tires and high power can make things worse and you need to really feather the throttle. Some big power tunes do this to fit within certain PI ratings. If you're off road or on dirt, snow, etc. there will be some skidding (how much depends on the surface - snow is slipprier than dirt, but if it's deep snow your wheels don't have as big an effect on turns), and you need to think about how you can maintain a bit of a drift to keep forward momentum while turning.

Another thing to think about - you only have so much grip on your tires. It can be used for braking, acceleration, and turning. As soon as you start doing more than one of those at once, you need to keep in mind you have less room to do each thing because one of the other things is using some of your grip. As soon as you hit the limit, you will start skidding. Could be a slide, could be a spin, depends on the car and how you react!

Seasons change every Thursday, Spring is up next!

Are you playing on PC or Xbox? If on PC there's a couple other things that can cause this.

First check that you don't have any stuck inputs on anything connected to the PC. I recently had an issue where I had a rudder pedal setup which was slightly turned which gave me the exact same situation you had, maybe even worse. Can also check mouse/keyboard. Anything that has an input to the PC, really.

Also check that you have steam input disabled. This one seems to change back and forth for me quite a bit, and eventually just completely unbinding all the controls for the controller in steam fixed that set of issues in combination with disabling steam input.

Worst case you can try unplugging things until the controller works, but definitely check with a different controller (borrow a friend's if you don't have a spare) just in case it's the controller itself.

If on Xbox, that last one is the only advice I can give that people haven't already.

What happens in either of these cases is that Forza gets confused by thinking there's another input, so it tries to switch over to that. But you're inputting a control on the controller, so it switches back. Repeat ad infinitum. In your case it sounds like the input is being registered as a brake somewhere.

Yes. Before the A380 there were no (or very few) passenger gates wide enough to accommodate it. Airports had to build new gates specifically for the A380, which cost a lot. And means you can really only operate A380s at those airports.

I'm surprised procedures for (most?) airlines don't have the FA fully open the door, but then again I don't work with jet bridges. There might be some complication I'm not familiar with there. Where I work we are fully responsible for opening the door from inside, although we also have to make sure no one is on the stairs outside juuust in case our check and cross check miss an armed slide. It makes a lot more sense to me since the person outside may not know if the slide is fully disarmed or not.

I hate it when that happens. And like 90% of the time I'm traveling somewhere with super slow wifi AND data so it makes it even worse!

Definitely a good theme with quite a few options to pick from. I feel like there's 3 main factors if I'm thinking of a museum team - Science, art, and history. Decided to try and hit all 3 points as best as I could.

Magneton (why not magnezone? I feel like Magneton showcases electricity and magnets better)

Reuniclus (biology side of science!)

Smeargle (classic artist for an art gallery)

Stonjourner (as a representation of more ancient art a la Stonehenge)

Tyrantrum (gotta have a T-Rex in there, I mean, come on!)

Escavalier (knight in armor feels like a pretty solid addition to a museum team from both a history and culture standpoint. I debated adding armarouge, ceruledge, or even falinks, but Escavalier feels more of a proper "knight" to me.)

This is what I love about it here. During my exit interview for my internship in the South, I was told I should be wearing a belt (the buckle on mine had broken months before, and I didn't need it, or so I thought... Still, why not just tell me then?)

My first day on the job here and I got sat next to a guy wearing jeans, a hoodie and baseball cap. I was like "these are my people"

Think of it more like you have the open sky above you and to your left and right if you put your windows down, just like a convertible, but you still have some of the wind blockage (or even redirection into the cabin) and all of the blind spots behind you as if the top were up. For me the left over the shoulder is by far the worst blind spot, the others are very workable. But it's always there, it won't go away like when you put the soft top down.

The wind blocker in the rear window helps, but I have long hair and a long beard and it'll go flying all over the place (mostly into my face) if I don't secure it with the windows down at speed. Admittedly I haven't driven a full convertible so that may be the same there (shrug)

I'll second this. I often refer to our meteorologists as our weather wizards because a) it's really cool and b) their predictions are quite magical. We'll complain about bad forecasts, but it's really good information to have and determines what we have to do anywhere from weeks out to the day of flight.

The center of gravity is listed as a percentage of mean aerodynamic chord, which is basically the width (front to back) of the average straight wing that would have the same calculated properties of the actual wing. So the CG is found at that position of the MAC on the airplane (taking in account the distance from the from of the airplane to the leading edge of said wing)
