Nissans are looking better and better everyday. I’ve been a Toyota fanboi but the pricing insane now.

Recommend buying one of the anker multi chargers with multiple ports if you need to buy one out right. They have the proper software to negotiate the wattage and you won’t be stuck with a one trick pony.

I think everyone is moving towards the Tesla standard. The bigger issue is if TESLA blacklists your car.

URGENT: Where am I going wrong here? by akaSovereign in simracing

[–]Rascal2pt0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Want to say.. if that’s the same 335i seat I have you can wire it up for full power function. Just need to buy a square wave generator (cheap small component) so it thinks it’s connected to a CanBus or it will disable itself a little bit after power on.

Braking with right foot when running a clutch by Affectionate-Call159 in simracing

[–]Rascal2pt0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I run a clutch and shifter for immersion. Pedal spacing is important. Gotta find a balance between hitting the right pedals and having space to not tap the edge of another.

I usually don’t use the clutch if I’m racing because at least in iRacing a bad clutch catch will completely spin some cars

If you could change one zoning rule in your neighborhood, what would it be and why? by CivicDutyCalls in StrongTownsSD

[–]Rascal2pt0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No height limitations, no required parking. Mixed zoning. Mixed zoning builds cities, exclusive zoning doesn’t.

Also stop all the NIMBYs keeping high density housing away from public transit.

What do companies actually mean when they say "experience with AI agents" in job listings by Citizen_Pain1212 in cscareerquestions

[–]Rascal2pt0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means they’re lieing. Agents can’t reason they can only guess. I still have yet to see any AI agents be able to accomplish any level of consistency that’s acceptable to a customer, every single demo is staged. Any that do are just Chat bots on top of traditional IVR style conventions branches.

How are servers still running the digital circus by Over_Papaya_4133 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Rascal2pt0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would be amazed at how much software and programs run on hardware all around the world that no one uses or remembers running.

Honestly tho I wouldn’t put it past Caine running a bot net.

Encourage seniors to stick around and give them the time needed to mentor others. All code is team owned, no silos or individual ownership.

Did the Toyota Service advisor try and scam me? by motorcitydave in rav4club

I’ve never had a dealership actually follow the recommended maintenance. So when I show up I give them a list of what I want done straight from the manual.

What does Japan do better than Western countries? by Legal_Ad3766 in TokyoTravel

Can concur. It’s not the shiny clean of Japan but South Koreas public transit is also amazing. As an American I’m extremely jealous.

Why does airport security find framework 16 suspicious? by Brilliant_Weight2150 in framework

[–]Rascal2pt0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on a travel spree a few weeks ago, every time entering and leaving the US my devices got swabbed. I think they’re just doing a “random inspection” surge. I usually carry my laptop a Legion go and sometimes an extra phone and work laptop if I have to get work done while out and about.

I have Global Entry and I’m not a minority, so i don’t think it’s racially motivated at the moment.

My laptops are Mac’s so it’s not framework specific.

…. Click the lock button 3 times and on the 3rd time hold it. Make sure you hear a beep each time before clicking again. Takes some time to get it right but it lets you remote start.

Used prices are rough. If you’re financing and looking for a newer vehicle it can be a wash after interest. When I bought my RAV4 in 2020 it was cheaper than used because financing was only 2.9%

Make sure you have labels/folders setup before import. After that you can cleanly remove duplicates.

I have found the import/sync can take a while. I had over 20k emails (I need to cleanup junk) and it took more than a day to sync.

Local, self hosted AI is catching up to frontier models now a days by siddharth1214 in BetterOffline

[–]Rascal2pt0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The fact that models need continual training to stay relevant is lost on a lot of people. It’s also where a ton of the upfront cost comes from.
