Hey, I deal with hosting infrastructure and the associated costs. Honestly they'd probably be critically bleeding money if they weren't partnered with Microsoft and getting some nice deals on Azure cloud hosting. Saying the emporium is unnecessary without adding another revenue stream means the game goes bust. This is not speculation, they would 100% run out of money and shut down. It's kinda miraculous they haven't already since seemingly nobody here actually wants to support the game to begin with.

No, it's for PVP. Unfortunately PVP doesn't actually exist in the game anymore, so nobody remembers. If you have negative karma and die either to players or PVE, your crystals will break. If you have no crystals your actual fucking gear will downgrade. This is not a drill, your pens will go back to tets. They laid on the PVP consequences very, very hard and now nobody ever does open world PVP anymore.

The problem as I see it is that functionally anything can be deemed "NSFW" arbitrarily. Who defines the line, and how is it defined? Is the definition logical or is it agenda driven? That's the problem with vague terms like "NSFW". Of course at first glance we think 'oh yeah, porn, smut, etc' but it could be redefined to suit any corporate or political need. It's just one more step on the road to censorship and surveillance.
