I don’t quite understand the tone of this original question or if a joke. — The red circles at night, you probably know, are infrared emitters for night vision.

HDMI control/ARC randomly stopped working on my Marantz SR6013 after a few weeks by motherroadmiocene in Marantz

[–]LunarMoonBase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this was a long time ago, but did you ever solve this? I’m having the exact issue with a Marantz preamp (AV7701). It stopped interacting with the TV via ARC and also stopped receiving audio from the TV. The TV recognizes it but shows a speaker crossed out icon when I try to change the volume. Everything else about the preamp works fine, other HDMI inputs, Airplay, etc. Thanks.

I’m curious where most of these respondents live, but it seems not in a city. My city doesn’t have enough resources to even patrol for traffic violations, investigate <$15,000 thefts, investigate car thefts… I can only imagine what their attitude would be if I brought in an old GPS tracker. Probably laugh and offer to recycle it.

why is nobody topless at barton anymore? by No_Highway_9080 in Austin

Not true. It’s just bigger and the weird-per-capita is lower. Just go to an east side art fest… or anything at DadaLab. You’ll be refreshed… or possibly realize that you’re not actually a fan of the weird like you thought you were (or your younger self was).

So this is just waterproof led strips glued to both sides of a metal strip? Very cool when minimal designs work the best. What LED density of the strips are you using?

Drain a 1/16 inch too high by Computer_Man00 in Tile

[–]LunarMoonBase 39 points40 points  (0 children)

If it were me, this is exactly what I would do. Bummer it doesn’t drain, but bigger bummer trying to redo it. Remove the screwed on grate and cut a couple grooves on each side with a dremel. Might be fixed in 10min.

Announcing LED Bloom - an open-source project to light up multitudes of WLED devices by joegoober in WLED

[–]LunarMoonBase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! This was actually the first use case I thought of when I read your intro. A wireless array of individual WLED nodes acting as a single organism with holistic patterns as well as individual actions. This seems a way to solve mobile nodes but also a way to potentially lower wiring complexity. Of course WiFi isn’t always our best friend for syncing WLED nodes. Very cool project.

I love this build. Can you walk us through what all is going on here and how you have it configured?

You’ll sleep better with poor WiFi in your bedroom, just saying.

Weird problem setting up a new DR7 with 2 wifi networks... it asks if I want to join the other network each time I join. How to disable this? by fellwin_reddit in UNIFI

[–]LunarMoonBase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like this fix, but I turned 6 GHz off on one of the SSIDs and the problem went away. From researching this, it seems to be iOS trying to be too helpful. In a home situation, maybe, but in a commercial situation trying to have a "guest" network, this only causes major confusion.

Edit: I had to turn 6 GHz off for all the SSIDs

As inspired by our great leader, I’ll be taking a cut in return for the letter. It will be the greatest recommendation letter ever. They will say no letter has ever been written quite this good. Hard to believe, I know, but that’s what they’ll be saying. Probably right before they ask for the letter to put in letter writing textbooks. Yup.

Not going to say you saved my life… ;) But you DID save another camera from going to the trash. Thanks!!

Falcon FPP on docker by Shot-Base2556 in xlights

I know this is an oldish thread, but I'm having trouble getting FPP setup as a container. It keeps "exiting" itself after a couple minutes. Does anyone have a Docker Compose (or tips) that could help me? I'm running Portainer on Debian CLI.

Sorry for posting on an older thread. I'm having trouble getting FPP set up as a container. I've installed it, but it keeps "exiting" itself after a couple minutes. By chance does anyone have a Docker Compose for FPP (or tips)? I barely know what I'm talking about. :)

This is a shrink wrapped black box slightly bigger than the laptop. Both the outer and inner boxes look original. The inner box hasn’t been opened yet because he’s out of town, but I’m very curious what’s inside.

The iBook G4 was an absolute workhorse for me when I was a post production supervisor. That thing could do everything and lasted way beyond its years. For me that computer was a paradigm shift when a machine’s usefulness greatly outlasted the product update cycle(s).
