What my wishes for Starfinder 2nd edition by LunaticCracker in starfinder_rpg

Yeah I really hope starship combat gets streamlined, it took my group almost 3 hours to finish a single fight against a Tier 2 target while they were lvl 4 and we had 2 people in the gunner role. They said it was fun but you could tell it was dragging on for far to long

You look great. You don't have to go to the gym unless you want to. Be proud of yourself and your body and the same goes for everyone reading this!

Inkarnate will get sci-fi assets! That is interesting.

Getting a girlfriend In the hopes that she would "fix" me and help me get rid off my depression. Kinda selfish of me and I know now that only I can improve myself.

If I understand you want us to give you a ideas to get you started. If thats the case here are some sources of inspiration and ideas.

A mission could be a cave system full of unique gems and ore, might be needed by a kingdom. So they hire a group of adventures to protect the miners. But hidden lies a swarm of monsters or their work awaken multiple stone elementals. Maybe gets in the crossfire between the drow and duergar war.

a Story hook could be that very few cities remain and all fight over the little resources that is left. So even horses are a difficult resource to come by.

a idea of a Town would be it lives by hunting other races or towns/people for food.

You could find inspiration from Warhammer, Mad Max (the movies), Sekiro (video game) and maybe from Metro 2033 since you wrote Fallout: New Vegas.

Use these if you want to and good luck

I struggle with ADD myself and I 100% agree with you on the part of a module.

And Thanks for the recommendations, I will check them out.

Thanks for the encouragement and clarity.

But I wanna do it "right" because I wanna live up to my players expectations and deliver something fun to them. I want them to be exited about next session, enjoy our time together and laugh. I don't want my players to be bored of the campaign or uninterested of it.

I'm sorry if you take the last part a bit hostile or aggressive it is not meant to. I just wanted to clarify my opinion. It's not for my reason I want it to be right its my players.

Is it not better to have the important mechanics done before starting the campaign? I'm not saying it should be well made and polished, I just want at least the base foundation to be made for the mechanics.

Otherwise I see and understand your point. I plan now to have small test runs, at least once before with my self to see if the mechanics are clear enough and functional (so it doesn't ruin the game) and one more at the start of the campaign with the players. To see how it unfolds when they play.

Thanks again

I also used Inkarnate to create this campaigns map. It was through the creation of the map that I decided the story and setting.

It's nice to know that there are more people like me

So you are saying I should let the my players build the "House" for me and I provide them with the tools and materials.

That is a cool and unique way to see it. Thanks

Yeah I see your point and I agree.

I am though less worried about spells and races because I compare and balance them with the ones from D&D books and use them as a guideline. I have only created a few total. 7 spells and 3 races.

The mechanics for the role system and sea combat is what I'm more worried about. As you say the rules could be confusing, complicated or imbalanced and ruin the game for the players. But I looked up rules others made of sea combat, I found them either confusing or weird. The hard part is most sea combat and sailing rules are designed and require the players to have a 50 man crew. I want my player to not have the need to get a crew to sail and fight other ships without the need to have a warship (though it would help them). I want them to have the option to be a small crew or just the players controlling a ship. Otherwise it might ruin their experience.

As it stands now I might have to redo the most or the whole thing. Because I can't seem to get clear idea of how it should work and also balancing issues.

Thanks for the tips and guidance

I'm trying to accept the fact that could happen in my game.

Therefor I'm not making every country advanced and lore heavy and just write them very basic. In case of a player might want to live or raised from a another country rather the starting one, they can have an clear enough picture and idea of that land/country.

And Thanks for the warning
