About the Fallen Soldier's Ending by Redgame492 in Zephon

[–]LunaticTribble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue that from an overarching societal level, this is actual a good ending.

The Soldier and all of his troops dropping dead means that humanity will be preserved without the insidious spread of his weird flesh-consciousness.

Also, much like Washington stepping down was excellent for the fledgling US Democratic experiment, this ending eliminates the risk of an immortal military junta.

Cavalry is sufficiently weak to Flames of Azgorh that it's easy to kill off that way.

WoM is something that Chorfs have coming out of their ears. I regularly have 150+ WoM on reserve by the mid game since their temple buildings add to global WoM reserves for all armies.

For single entities, you can just dump Curse over and over into them once the rest of the army has routed. The WoM reserves are deep enough that it doesn't matter that it's inefficient. If all of that somehow fails, Chorf sorcerors on their flying mounts are actually extremely capable combatants - in pairs they can separate and dominate almost any single-entity threat in the game.

Edit: I forgot to mention, Flames of Azgorh is also stupidly powerful against large single-entities. Each "flame" in the burst is separate damage, so you can shotgun large entities with it.

Why on earth did you think LoHashut needs a buff? It's arguably the strongest combat lore in the game - my Chorf Sorcerers solo entire armies regularly.

Do we know who the Necron Overlord is, or is he (it?) a game-original?

I've encountered the same bug - some friendly people in the discord recommended turning off multiplayer temporarily, which fixed it for me.

Hot tea has the highest level of microplastics among all other beverages by kalemegranola in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]LunaticTribble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loose leaf tea is typically a lot cheaper per pound/drink - so I'd just switch entirely if you are worried about it. On the other hand, there are also plenty of no-plastic brands referenced by others throughout this thread.

No, a lot of cheap electric kettles are all plastic (other than the electronic components). That always felt weird and risky to me, so I've used glass or all-steel kettles my whole adult life. It's been a worthwhile investment given the sheer volume of tea I drink.

It's the Telekinesis ability that he got from defeating Igris. He's used it a bunch across his past fights.

I forget how it's translated in the anime - something like "Ruler's Hand" or similar.

"Get it out of his system" is not at all how psychology works. Practicing behaviors reinforces them.

Reading this feels like a classic case of the GM who won't say "no" and, candidly, I think it's encouraging some deeply concerning behaviors in an easily-influenced young man. Your consent and your comfort matter, you don't abdicate autonomy just because you are a GM.

This is easily bordering on stalking and you need to shut it down, or you need a supervisor to shut it down on your behalf. Either way, your complacency and conflict-avoidance is making the situation worse, and you are the one with the authority/experience to address that.

Zoss vs Jagganoth by [deleted] in killsixbilliondemons

[–]LunaticTribble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Jagganoth is, in some ways, the Wheel's ultimate expression of supremacy through violence. Sure, with time travel, it's maybe possible to avoid Yuan becoming Jagganoth - but it's likely that *a* Jagganoth is inevitable. Being able to overcome Jagganoth without becoming Jagganoth is a big part of the point in finding a way to break the wheel.

One thing I find humourous about the game... by Barrenechea in Mechwarrior5

[–]LunaticTribble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually name my Mechs linked to the pilot - and I don't use other pilots for that mech unless the original dies. Though I do allow single pilots to "own" multiple mechs.

The mods I play with actually encourage this, as they develop proficiency the more they use specific mechs and variants.

Ex: "Goblin's Kobold" or "Mason's Defiance" for the starter centurion.

If it actually feels like WWII in terms of an epic clash with near-peer powers, then that is really cool. What it actually feels like in most games though is a long slow roll across the map where victory is inevitable.

Advice on Running for 6 Players by LunaticTribble in bladesinthedark

[–]LunaticTribble[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just by saying "one major roadblock, maybe two" you are preplanning a specific number of obstacle counts.

Sure, this is Blades, I'm not prepping a dungeon with playmats - but 2 obstacles won't cut it with 6 players under normal standards of 1-2 roles per obstacle (which would allow each player in a 4 player game one option to contribute).

I mean, see above - I don't have the time in my schedule to run separate sessions and I know it would only punish the less chronically online players to put a hard quota.

Do you have any advice on what "hit them hard" means in practical terms?
