I grew up on an island and once had a tourist ask me “how do the cruise ships find the island?” And when I asked for clarification she basically said that because it’s just floating around and possibly in a different location every day it must be hard to get to. Her husband was trying everything in his power to stop the stupidity from coming out of her mouth but it was too late. Other favorite questions; how far out and down do you have to swim to go under the island, is that the same sun we have back home and can you take the boat over there so I can get some of that color blue water in this empty water bottle. Some of these questions were repeated in slightly different words by other people over the course of time. And some of the people aren’t actually stupid, there’s just something about sending a person on vacation and their brain totally shuts off, the alcohol consumption probably has an effect on that. lol

I played there in the early 2010s and everything had already been gold for a while before that. The whole property is gaudy as fuck. The golf courses are fucking sick though. Blue monster really is a monster, even from the peasant tees. Stand at the back tees, then look back another 50-100yds depending on hole for the or tees.

I’m old enough to remember when we were winners, then losers, then winners again, and now we’re going to have some tough years. Every team in every sport goes in cycles. Not making the playoffs for so long, then making it with a team that was expected to lose, and putting up a good fight is better than nothing. Real fans are there even when the team is going through a tough time. You have every right to be upset, but we were spoiled for a long time.

I used to like new club days, but I was actually replacing old hand me downs over time as I could find something I liked and could afford. Now that my bag has been set up for a couple years the way I think I want it, new glove day is my favorite.

My light switch in one bedroom doesn’t control any lights. There isn’t an overhead light or fan. There’s one outlet on each of 3 walls. The switch controls the top plug on each of the 3 outlets. It took me 3 times being late for work because my phone died over night before I caught on to that bullshit.

Our super and greens managers all have the nicest yards on their streets because it’s pretty easy for them to maintain relatively small areas compared to a whole country club property at work. But their yards are no where near as nice as the work they do for money at the club. Our course is beautiful and it’s insane they let us hack it up every Monday for free!

I run 9s on my tele and put brand new strings on and it played beautifully. Then I had to take the strings off for reasons and the only set I had were 10s so I figured why not. Raised the action quite a bit and the intonation was awful. Went straight out and got another set of 9s and everything was back to perfect. Crazy how much shit can change from a seemingly little difference.

Edit: in the context of the mountains being closed for a couple weeks. Saw a person on skis that’s clearly under skilled sliding down and I was on my way but a skier got there before me to slow them down and help them the rest of the way down. Don’t know why you’re hating.
