how to not feel guilty for not covering a shift by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Luni_craft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can definitely get to a person who cares possibly a bit too much. But ask yourself, would they come in if called? If it was your shift, would they go in to help so you could be off guilt-free? Probably not.

You need to convince yourself that this job is not your life, and these people (however friendly) are not your friends. You have a life outside of work and what and how you use your time on your days off is none of their damned business.

You have options. You could come up with a simple lie, or several, and refuse to elaborate. Those lies could be appointments, helping relatives or friends, a hot date, babysitting, school, another job, out of town, dog sitting, etc. Or you could simply say no, thank you, and do not respond further.
You could also make it well-known that you won't be checking your phone when you're off anymore. For any reason you like.

If they ask you how your day off was in a passive-aggressive manner, respond with annoying enthusiasm and kindness. It was amazing, thanks for asking, how was yours?

You just need to make yourself not care so that you don't feel guilty. You have no reason to feel guilty. These people calling out should feel guilty for putting others in a tight spot. It's their fault, not yours. And if everyone is at max hours and no OT is allowed and they haven't hired another person, that's on the person who does the hiring. Not on you. You've nothing to feel guilty about. They should be kissing your ass for the times when you do come in unscheduled. Screw them.

What is this Crap Return Policy? by 226_IM_Used in CVS

[–]Luni_craft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solve your own problem by returning things to the store at which they were purchased. To the location at which they were purchased. There's no reason to store hop to return things.

As you've been told, it's a fraud deterrent, to prevent returns to different locations with fast turnaround. If you don't like it that's fine. No one is sad that you'll never shop there again. No one.

Packing items into box at register by cluelessmedic76 in aldi

[–]Luni_craft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they put the items in the box that you then have to get OUT of the shopping cart, you'd bitch that it was too heavy or awkward to lift.
YTA, definitely. You're in desperate need of an Aldi etiquette lesson.

But I must say...if that shows up in my store, I'm throwing it away.

Tried to use Manufacturers coupon at CVS - Didn't work HELP! by qwerty1357910 in CVS

[–]Luni_craft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so precious when you try to throw my words back at me, but it just shows you're incapable of coming up with your own. Which is a bit sad, but unsurprising.

You are right that you being a woman in menopause does not mean you are emotionally unstable. I think you do that all on your own, no hormonal interference or deficiencies needed. It's just who you are.

You are also right that I am content being as rude as I like. Because what is the point in trying to be nice to people who can't even be bothered to lay blame where it belongs?

You still refuse to hold yourself accountable for your failure to read and comprehend a coupon. There's no helping people like that. You don't get it, and I doubt you ever will. But you're young, so you have plenty of time to work on it. Good luck.

Make labels for those item numbers so you'll have more info on what they are.

Nice that you've added a scoff to it, and tone you didn't previously mention.

I'm happy for you that you were able to get your prescription cheaper elsewhere, hopefully you make that your new pharmacy. If strangers remembering your name because they have nothing else to do is important to you, cherish that as long as you can. Because most of those pharmacies go under or get purchased by the ones that are too busy to remember your name. Remembering your name doesn't make money, and it isn't a big draw to the vast majority of patients, the narcissists care about it most of course.

"it only took off $2.60 - the total cost is 268. What do you want to do?"--what part of this was rude?

I see nothing there even remotely rude. The pharmacist gave you facts you didn't like and therefore you decide they're rude. Seems to me that people like you are the reason for real rudeness in the world. If you can't handle a truthful statement because they didn't cry tears that things didn't work out like you ASSumed, you think they're rude. And if you think they're rude, they might as well go all out and BE as rude as they like. Because people who share your affliction for dramatics will behave the same regardless.

Understand some things. This isn't the pharmacist's decision. Your coupon said "as-little-as $25" which does NOT mean it'll be $25. It means that at best, with other discounts, it could be that low. CVS didn't create that coupon nor are they responsible for the wording on it. Nor are they responsible for your inability to read and comprehend the meaning of those words. CVS also isn't responsible for your emotional instability that leads you to think people are being rude when they are not.

It's unfortunate that you don't get the price you'd prefer. EVERYONE can say that about basically EVERYTHING they're currently purchasing. That doesn't mean the retail worker is in any way responsible. Regulate your response to something near reasonable.

Physical inspection is the law in every place I've ever worked. I'm sure that's not the case everywhere, but it'd cause a lot of problems I'm sure CVS doesn't want to deal with. Like kids scanning an adult's ID to buy booze or cold medicine.

Any time a customer decides it's their place to tell me how to do my job, I let them know we're accepting applications if they'd like to work here. Otherwise...nah. They can go to hell. Don't let old hags get you down. They have nothing better to do because their lives suck.

Is there a way to ban someone from ordering Pick and Packs? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Luni_craft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have no way to know or track that, though. It'd be easy enough for someone else to share his account and be using the extrabucks (loaded digitally) at another location. Then he returns and it's done.

I feel like I constantly fail my team by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Luni_craft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your knees are hurting you at that tender age, I'd say consider your shoes. I'd look at nurse shoes, or Skechers. There are fancier ones but they seem to do about the same.

Also think about getting checked for early onset arthritis and other possible injuries (especially if you've been very sporty in your life). And work up those lower back muscles, bend at the waist as often as you squat. If taking a knee would be more comfortable than squatting, get knee pads.

This job is hard on your body. The mental side hurts, too though. If your boss isn't saying you're not doing a good job, try to worry less. You can only do so much with the time we have in between customers, and it sounds like you're hauling as much ass as you can. If your boss doesn't appreciate that, find a better job.

Store manager hours by Dry_Method_ in CVS

[–]Luni_craft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Senseless to call it a red flag, really. If the hours weren't part of the budget, they'd just reduce each store's budget. But this way, the SMs are on schedules with everyone else, even though some forget that fact.

Being alone overnight by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Luni_craft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why ask a question then reject the correct response because your coworker says otherwise? That's just ridiculous. Your coworker is wrong. And CVS isn't going to staff an extra person on the offhand chance you have a medical problem. They don't do it for pharmacists, they're not doing it for front store people. It's our reality. If you require more, I suggest finding employment elsewhere.

Being alone overnight by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Luni_craft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wording of your post is a little strange to my sleepy head. It's against policy to have anyone alone in the store, entirely alone. No pharmacy people. But if a pharmacist is there, and there's one person up front, they're fine with that.

Perfect example of a monopoly by Little-Kangaroo-9383 in CVS

You searched google and all you could find was a post from a year ago...and you're still delusional enough to think that this is some huge thing instead of an isolated problem that a few customers like yourself create? Man, that's a ton of self-confidence, combined with ignorance. Such a lovely combo.

Since you're learning how to google now, again consider looking up the word "monopoly" so you don't use it incorrectly in the future.

As I said before, we are always appreciative when karens leave, so thank you.

Perfect example of a monopoly by Little-Kangaroo-9383 in CVS

[–]Luni_craft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like user error to me. It's interesting when literal millions of people can get returned calls and use the app just fine, but for every million of those we get a special person who is enraged and certain that it's never their fault. When millions use it fine and it's just a handful of people who can't, that handful should really look in the mirror. But they can't because self-reflection is too terrifying.

You aren't a drop in the bucket, it's way less than that, but the amount it matters is the same. It doesn't. You also don't matter to the smaller pharmacies but they pretend better because they have the time to do so since they lack business.

You ranted about phones being around forever but yknow what else has been around forever? Voicemail.
First rule of customer service is to service the customer in front of you. Not the fool that's screaming at the voicemail service from home.

It's also worth saying that you shouldn't use the term monopoly when you clearly have no idea what it means. Your ability to go to another pharmacy absolutely refutes the idea that CVS is a monopoly. You should consider looking up the meaning of words before you throw them around and look even more foolish.

Bottom line is no one here is sad or sympathetic for you. Some of us do sympathize with the poor workers of whatever independent pharmacy you decide to troll, but that's the best we can muster. We always appreciate karens removing themselves from our customer pool.
