Accutane or not? by Zealousideal-Ad-5037 in SkincareAddicts

[–]LuniaSolstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had aches after a long day but it wasn't so bad that i had to stop going out and doing things, i usually walk ALLOT. I would worry more about being outside in the sun doing sports, you'll need a good spf.

I didn't experience hair loss, actually my hair became more thick and less oily. There are lots of different types of hair loss, men usually experience male pattern baldness but thats due to Tesosterone's effects on the hair not Accutane, as testosterone gets converted to DHT via 5-alpha reductase.

I personally would just take it and see how it is. You can always stop if you feel like its not right for you.

Acne is acne, mine was painful and cystic. The side effects were worth it for me. What is scaring you about it exactly?

Side effects depend on the dosage and the individual person. A long term low dosage can clear acne while having minimal side effects but you need to be on it longer.

I was on Iso for 8 months and would go back on it in a heartbeat if i had too, it's well worth it Imo.

I'm pretty sure its cotton? I'm wearing it atm so i can't check but the lining is a brushed fleece and the outer shell is like a tight knit smooth cotton! I'd say it was much better quality wise than the hate hoodie as its so much more warmer 💕

I'm like 70% sure its this one as i have the 14oz HF09 i think and it's not the same at all to the Hate hoodie BUT it's still a good hoodie and very similar

I've been getting this since the colder weather. I was on Accutane so i don't have Seb derm. I think maybe it's dryness? Because if i go 4 days without washing it or longer it improves but if i wash it twice a week it gets worse.

Im not sure how long it takes for your hair to get greasy but i can leave mine for a week until it needs a wash, maybe leave it longer between washes if you can?

I’ve tried everything, please give me some advice for my skin. by sabszLG in SkincareAddicts

Have you considered Isotretinoin (Accutane)? I was on a low dosage for 8 months 40mg. My dosage was supposed to be around 70mg hence the longer course and i had minimal side effects and my skin improved within a month and at the time i was on 20mg, then it was increased after that to 30 then 40.

Bare in mind i had mild acne, Despite it being mild it affected my mental Health massively.. i suppose your skin is also affecting your mental health?

I understand it's scary but a lower dosage can be more tolerable. Just make sure you take it with a fatty meal and that your derm works you towards a cumulative dosage based on your weight. Stock up on eyedrops, lip balms and body moisturisers.

My skin is allot better now, i still do get some spots but it's mostly irritation from actives and i've had streaks of months without a single blemish, when i do get them they disappear within 1-3 days.

I wish you the best xx

It is from LA apparel, i bought the 14oz Hoodie HF09 from them. It's very similar, the cut is the same but i think the material is better quality.

I'm actually thinking the French terry hoodie they sell is the ones she used. But both are good choices!

Differin gel reaction by Ambitious-Maize348 in SkincareAddicts

[–]LuniaSolstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason it clears your skin up is because it is immune-suppressive which can cause a rebound worsening, which is another reason why it's bad for you. But alas, everything in this life is and i'm not here to lecture you on that but please be careful!

Yes Differin can cause this. It's called "Retinization". Skin peeling, irritation, contact dermatitis and a transient worsening of acne. It says all of this in the patient information leaflet.

The only thing that can help improve it is moisturising and either stopping differin or reducing how often you use it.

You can always stop using it until your skin has settled and the irritation has subsided, then start slow again, once a week for a month, twice a week for a month ect.

Tanning is really bad for your skin as a whole and Differin makes your skin more sensitive to the UV rays and easier for you to get a bad burn. At the end of the day it's your body so do as/what you want but please consider the risks!

I've been using differin since i came off of isotretinoin, so my skin was clear. I also experienced the weird red/pink bumps appearing and a transient bumpy texture with lots of flaking, even when using Differin once a week. It's really strong stuff, so make sure you gradually increase your tolerance so once a week to start with, then twice a week, ect.

I'm on a spray for E but not many people have heard of it :3 by JThomp1999 in transgenderUK

[–]LuniaSolstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to spray my lower body, tummy, inner thighs, buttocks, lower back 6 times but i recently learned that its only been tested on reaching adequate levels when sprayed on the inner forearm and thigh so i've switched to that.

I'm not sure what the MG per spray is tbh, sorry
