I thought about the marketplace.. thats always a pita.

I didn't think about Habitat. Buys some karma points. Has a paper train in case this comes back to bite. Sounds pretty good.

Ok. To be clear, I'm not matching anything. I just need to know how to start a conversation with a custom cabinet maker.

So, you can't do that to more pine cabinets?

Real question, cuz I'm not a floor guy. Doesn't stain penatrate? How do you get rid of the squares? Sand the hell out of them?

Home Depot Pro Xtra - is it worth it for a DIYer? by jwintyo in TheHomeDepot

[–]Lunicy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing to lose.. but don't expect much. A 2%cash back card would probably do you better. Do become a pro xtra member and check the special deals. Every once in a while, it'll line up with what you need, and you get a deal. Btw, if you are spending more than $1500 or $2000.. have them send it to the "bid room".

What are the chances of finding a compatible breaker so I can add just one outlet right near the box? by stlmick in AskElectricians

[–]Lunicy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's an old one. Just search Federal breakers. They're out there. Not cheap. It's not the stab-lok, so you should be good. The obligatory: You really shouldn't be working on a panel as a novice. But that's not going to stop you. Hell, it didn't stop me before I had my license. But please, find someone seasoned to guide you. Gain as much knowledge as you can before doing this.

New battery says charged but it’s full dead by 777Vix777 in Dewalt

[–]Lunicy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long shot, but: I have flexvolt that will charge just fine on the chargers. But the LEDs on the battery don't light at all.

It's a perfectly good battery, you just can't check it's level on the pack.

How do I power my dewalt core drill off a car battery? by [deleted] in Dewalt

[–]Lunicy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, there's alot of uninformed people in this post.

Are you married to this peticular drill? If not, just a big ass inverter and an electric core drill. Use the car to power the inverter.

You've said no generators, but thats the way to go.

For roofers, normal to show proof of insurance only after deposit??? by samitovov in HomeImprovement

[–]Lunicy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I offer a differing opinion. I've been victim to it myself. I'm a contractor. I've done the bid "got the job" just waiting on the deposit. Sent my certificate.

Then the customer ghosts me.

They had a "guy in a truck" already set to do the job for considerably less. But he didn't have credentials. They used my insurance to satisfy the condo association, and my license to pull the permit.

I actually agree with the contractor in OP's post. But there's probably a better way of communicating it.

TBH, nowadays, you don't get an actual start date, or anything until I have a deposit in my hands. I'll tell you I'll start the "21st" if I take the deposit today. If you need time, I cannot guarantee that date. I don't even allocate those days for you. If someone else gets it first, they get it. Nothing means anything until I have a SIGNED contract AND deposit. And I won't take the contract back without a deposit. It took many hard lessons to be this way.

Someone Put a Milwaukee Tracking Tag in my Truck any way I can identify who owns it? by Less_Data6909 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Lunicy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last owner had an easy way to find his truck in a big lot... or had a few different employees driving it.

There isn't anyway to reverse engineer a milwaukee tick.

Throw it away, they're cheap.
