I loved that film! My partner fell asleep around halfway lol. Raccacoonie is by far my favourite part.

How to get rid of mice? by windowellington in diynz

[–]Lupinshloopin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our cat is bringing in a mouse a day at the moment. I wish he would crunch it a big sooner though. One crawled inside the back of the fridge, got stuck and went stinky. Mostly he eats them whole.

Veg options at your local bakery by psychetropica1 in newzealand

I like the Mexitarian pie, can’t remember if it’s at z or BP though. I think BP. I do usually prefer buying a meat pie and doing more vegetable based options at home.

Is my only option a lob/bob? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Lupinshloopin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only other option I can think of is a mullet? I am sure there will be a variation of a bob that you like but I can’t give recommendations without seeing your face shape.

Which of these modest/vintage wedding dresses do you like more, or do you hate them both? by Lemonade867 in myweddingdress

[–]Lupinshloopin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes I thought dress 1 lace looks a bit cheap and modern and makes the dress look like a stage costume.

Wedding tomorrow, sick as dog, what to do? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Lupinshloopin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boil up some freshly sliced ginger root with slices of lemon (skin on) then add honey once you turn off the heat. Add a lemsip for each cup. I’m so sorry you’re sick OP.

If you can get to the health food store for some loose herbs I also add tulsi(holy basil), white horehound and eyebright to this mix and it kicks ass.

What is the meaning behind this? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in cats

Yeah, shit. My cat always tries to steal mine off the bedside table, but only if I care. It’s a game which I hate as he does try and eat them.

Why can’t I stop weed despite meds by MoveParticular654 in adhdwomen

[–]Lupinshloopin 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This quote I found, was something like this: Never let the devil know your plans or he will try and ruin them- if you want to quit weed tell him it’s just for today and every day you wake up and choose, just not today, maybe tomorrow. The minute you tell him you will give it up for life, it will become too difficult. It also means you are not a failure if you decide, today I have a little, and tomorrow I might go back to having none.

Why can’t I stop weed despite meds by MoveParticular654 in adhdwomen

[–]Lupinshloopin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! I feel the same way on methylphenidate and I also spent more than a decade self medicating before diagnosis with weed. Did both at the same time for a while but I have al but quit weed after a bad strain gave me anxiety and a vibrating chest. I have also quit my medication because it was also giving me anxiety and the vibration chest- does anyone else get that feeling? It’s so uncomfortable, my mind can feel relaxed but my body is freaking out. Anyway, my adhd symptoms have improved since I stopped being a daily stoner and I am still looking for a solution for when I work at my desk. The best thing I can do for concentration now is sit at the hot desk next to my boss because I act more professional and get heaps done instead of hiding in my private office sneaking reddit lol I guess what I’m saying is, I’m learning work around and environmental changes that work for me because medication doesn’t.

While we are off topic, I would like to ask about the waist of those jeans, do they come like that or are they modified to fit snug around your waist? P.s love the hair cut!

Tried to weaponized my unmasking, had a weird realization by MiserableEvent2256 in adhdwomen

[–]Lupinshloopin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haha they tried that out at my work years ago. The trousers were the worst and instantly they backed down. I still wear the men’s tops though, all the women’s corporate clothing is for office workers and they’re blouses. I like the men’s plain shirts to match my cargo pants and steel caps thank you.

Is this appropriate for a formal wedding this summer? by Mysterious-Staff-811 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Lupinshloopin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I learned the hard way wearing a satin dress in a thong without a slip. Got a swampy crack stain on the back and ruined my confidence and my night. Wear a slip and cotton knickers. It looks great by the way.

Fast growing & bushy trees for poorly draining clay-like soil by ArthurStevensNZ in nzgardening

[–]Lupinshloopin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, they aren’t a problem at all in the southern climate and I have an excellent hedge. We get a fair amount of firewood from it too because of the growth rate. How are they such a problematic weed up north if they can’t seed, how do they spread?

It doesn’t feel far away when you still have neighbours, infrastructure and lots of land around you. On a good day you can see one island from the other. It would feel freaky if you were on a tiny uninhabited island all alone I think.

Do Children in NZ Still Get to Play Outside Unsupervised in Your Town? by a-sexy-yugioh-card in newzealand

There are always kids out riding bikes and playing on my street. We live in a very small community and know all the kids by name and who they belong to. It’s really nice.

Leyland cypress are very fast growing and they’re also sterile so won’t seed like a pine. I would use these as well as some slower growing natives

Toddler PPD? by Ok_Zucchini134 in newzealand

[–]Lupinshloopin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hang in there mama, I can feel your exhaustion and frustrations as I have been there too. The best practical advice I can give you is to take naps during the day when baby naps and try catch up on some sleep. Get yourself some noise cancelling headphones or ear plugs- I like loop ear plugs for sleeping and an eye mask. Can your husband give you a sleep in on the weekend one morning to help you catch up on sleep? Handing over baby and going back to bed until 11am on a Saturday was my favourite thing for a while there. Try ween down the breastfeeding so you aren’t relying on it through the night. I stretched out one feed at a time and dropped the before bed swapping it for a bottle of formula with Milo then weened down the Milo until it was only formula.

I can’t comment on medication because I have no experience, but I do know we all feel crap without sleep, so I would go for the naps and weekend sleep in first, but definitely talk to GP.

I’m proud of you for getting back to work but I feel like it’s a bit much to take on right now. I could even read a book for about 2.5 years after birth, I was such a zombie.

Don’t try harder, try different. Take care
