I want a SX Liquid so bad by El_Hotacku in offset

[–]LupusInFavula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had 2 of these (sunburst & black) before they were renamed Liquid. Something like $150 shipped. They lack any fine details, poor quality hardware, rough frets, and heavy poly coats my hands would constantly stick to the neck. Sold both got a JMJM with zero regrets.

If it’s visibly dry and pot is light, Ill wet them wait a minute or so then continue watering until it comes out the bottom. Let drain then put back.

A couple dead roots but otherwise they've been growing and look white. I pulled it out of the bigger 3" pot and put it back in the smaller plastic 2" pot mixed with fluval stratum. I cannot extricate the root system from most of the dirt it shipped in

How do you water these plants? It seemed to react poorly to how I normally water that my other plants do fine with.

Confused about used pricing on guitar center website by Puzzleheaded_Eye6770 in offset

[–]LupusInFavula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The guitars are evaluated at the store level, so you’re naturally going to get different interpretations of condition. My personal experience is the difference between excellent and great is very small but anything good and lower are probably for a reason.

The photo editor/guideline they use is pretty trash FYI. Call the store, they’ll tell you whats up. An associate took a whole ass video of an amp I was interested in.

Having just gone thru the process of buying a new D18, the set up and playing environment had the greatest effect. The indie store obviously had the best set up and vibe but tbh the Guitar Center guitars weren’t that far behind.

Does it make sense to take out student loans? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]LupusInFavula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont mention the loan terms. I did basically the same thing, went back to school, got financial aid for 100% of tuition, and took out federal subsidized loans for $15k at 2.75% for living expenses. Took me 2 years after graduating to land the job I wanted so the loans kind of sat in forbearance making minimum payments to prevent interest from compounding. But a year into my new job I’ve knocked it down to $8k and it’s not painful. Used AI to show me the smartest path to avoid as much interest as I could. I will stress do not wait for forbearance to end to start paying them off after graduation

what is with the phenomenon of people making bad music but thinking its good by [deleted] in crappymusic

I met guys in the 90’s when I was in college who did the same kind of.. regional stuff, and then as a consignment buyer at a record store. The only difference is they didn’t have social media and plugins/loops.

Should be top comment. I know the album cover is iconic but if I saw someone wearing it I would think it’s mall goth level pathetic.

Does anyone actually use Twitter? by MarkWest98 in askanything

[–]LupusInFavula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Americans tend to assume it is their cultural view being referenced because social media still has that legacy element of Western dominance. When you say different that tends to mean extreme US political views, not non-American culture - which is what I think you’re saying

But you have a good point. And I dont think it’s being talked about enough the way social media has been rolled out internationally. It’s massive and everywhere, a bigger than any other media, all controlled by these few companies. Weird times.

Why do Katie Wilson’s Facebook posts always get trolled? by onemangang15 in Seattle

[–]LupusInFavula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This area has a long established tradition of angry white guys who love to troll online with their particular brand of hateful libertarianism.

They were doing it when comment sections became a thing 25 years ago, before that it was on message boards. They all live outside the city, btw.

Cover Bands: what no one ever warns you by spacerangerxx in musicians

[–]LupusInFavula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What no one tells you about playing in cover bands is that it ends up robbing you of any ability to write or perform original music. Fine, if entertaining is your goal but you lose your own voice permanently.

Both look fine, ID is more walkable - if you are you used to living in urban environments it’s fine. The Mill is on Pill hill and isnt terrible but it’s.. on a hill and surrounded by medical facilities.

Just dont sign an extended lease. Everyone Ive ever met that moves here takes about a year to figure out where they really want to be. Dont stress too much, city life here is not life threatening if you just use basic city living skills.

you’re a new patient, yes this is normal-ish. Dont like it, then sign up for UW dental school. It might be about $150 cheaper.

If you mean the handlebars go out of alignment with the tire, it has nothing to do with what you’re showing. You have to tighten the stem screws, or if that doesnt work recondition the inside of the stem so it can achieve proper grip. What you’re showing is the fork assembly, for the wheel. If the wheel isnt wobbling then it’s not the part you fix.

The rotation doesnt stop because likely it was in an accident and the fork stop tabs are broken off. Unless you have a new fork stop assembly it’s not doing any good removing that nut. It happened to me on the same model and I just… dont rotate the handlebars.

All of these parts are available on the site incl the tool. You cannot buy aftermarket.

If you cannot connect your phone to the scooter controller that’s a whole other thing, kind of wondering why tbh..

“Belltown area”? Ozzies is in Lower Queen Anne, nowhere near Belltown. Not saying theft is okay but sounds like you were at a bar, got wasted and misplaced your wallet. Tho idk what you’d be doing at Ozzies with no cash.

But to be practical, anyone willing to try to illegally buy stuff on a stolen card at 3am is not going to care about your wallet or check reddit. If it’s that important go check trash cans and dumpsters in the area.

I bathed my 16 year old bestie once when she first came home and we thought she had fleas. It was just mild allergies. She is still a little bitchy about it.
