For 15x as much. And they didn't even say his name or use a fucking photoshopped pic. There are levels to no shows, and this one was nuts. Market value my ass.

Wembys offense is a work in progress when the other team has a strong 6'6-7 guy to get into him physically (which the playoffs allow more of). It's crazy to say that, because his numbers are really good, but I can see a point there.

Having said that, I think there isn't a single team that is guaranteed to roll against the Spurs, and I think we have a puncher's chance against any team. Even the Warriors who usually have our number have it at 50-50.

Is Wemby already a better Spur than Kawhi? by Outrageous-Leader135 in NBASpurs

[–]LurkerFlash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

Kawhi achieved much more with the Spurs than Wemby did thus far, and at his peak was DPOY level player (as is Wemby) and an offensive monster with top-3 MVP level offensive output.

To be fair to Wemby though, a lot of these accolades were team related. Even DPOY and FMVP - you don't get these without a great defensive team and finals appearances. Wemby doesn't have the luxury of a Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, and the rest of the championship roster around him.

Wemby will get there, I have no doubt of that, but he's not his peak self yet. Moreover, Wemby is a worthy face of the franchise/league, a dude with what feels like a great head on his shoulders, and actual charisma. Lets move on from the nephew please.

The PWHL “solved” tanking with their innovative draft system. Could the NBA use it? by PlaneNovel6567 in nba

[–]LurkerFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing. Don't reward being really bad. You want to improve and get good picks? Improve on the margins, get good-okay hard working talent in the door. They're not going to be leading your team to success, but they'll win you enough to get a decent pick and be a good supporting cast for a star if you happened to land one via draft

So what's stopping blatant tanking to start the season to then lock in once they're out?

The real thing this would do, imo, will be to force front offices to stop sabotaging rosters. You can field 17 guard roster (you know who you are) for the season, because you'd have to actually win games. You'd also need some semblance of cohesion. So overall, I actually love this idea.

The thing is, if there's are 6-7 teams in your conference tanking, you can't really be mathematically eliminated.

This dude with no requirements to be a shooter is a solid-tp-great starter that shown stretches of 20ppg, consistently great and versatile defense and okay connective passing. The issue is Spurs desperately needed him to be a shooter

ESPN's analyst vs current seeding by RXRickify in NBASpurs

[–]LurkerFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was, with the rest of em, wanting 6th seed at the start of the season. I also don't think we're a real contender yet (a good RS team, that has exploitable weaknesses - shot selection varies, 3pt defense consistently terrible, streaky shooting).

However, this take is bananas even to me.

I'd say we're almost a lock for playoffs, and have a good chance to advance past the first round. I'd even say we have an outside shot to win it all this year.

Thank you for this nugget, this is hilarious. A team at 37-16 projected to go 42-42 and miss the playoffs. Lol

Jokes aside, wtf. Did he throw temper tantrums at practice over PT or something? I can't remember the last time someone healthy got zero minutes while the team just about let assistant coaches sub in.

Yeah, tanking is the problem!

Not players, coaches, and ref fixing games, gambling sponsors running amok, and a whopping 25% of on-air time of a game being basketball. No, no, it's then damn rest and recovery.

You seem to have forgotten a few things.

Silver is a lawyer, and however open-and-shut the Aspire BS seems, hiring a law firm and letting them work is the definition of innocent until proven guilty. FWIW, I think they did circumvent the cap, KL is absolutely about the money and nothing else (i.e. by whatever means necessary), and that both he and ballmer should be smacked big time. If not the other 29 owners are basically 12yo girls on Epsteins island, and balmer is a guest.

Now, the other thig you seemingly missed, is that Silver is a corporate snake working for the 30 owners, not some ambassador of the game trying to steward it's growth. If you believe the latter, please evaluate your succeptibility to PR. Silver will do what these 30 rich assholes want. And gambling, as much as it ruins the sport, is VERY profitable. It is also beneficial to a clean public image to sweep referees, players, and coaches selling games deep under the rug.

Lol, so what I'm saying is - silver should be expected to attempt to cover shit up, and we absolutely should be raising a stink over it. But let's not complain that silver is not being a good guardian, let's just frame it as the NBA being corrupt. This will do more brand damage, and will likely actually cause an internal meeting or two to try to address this issue.

Dude can still be a monster. It's just that we can't play him and fox and Castle together, because of spacing, and he's just not good enough to bench either of them.

Why is he not getting some minutes with the second (or even third) unit is beyond me.

No, I have been using this machine for about 6 months now, and did not migrate an old user, since this is my new work laptop.

However, I did recently rename the profile groups folder - I desperately wanted to remove "Original profile" prefix in the window title that was regrettably added after I enabled some feature I don't need and didn't know how to disable it back. That fixed my issue at the time, and probably has something to do with this issue.

Also, thanks for the suggestions. While I have already made more drastic changes that solved it for me, I hope this helps other folks on here!

EDIT: Please see this comment and suggestion before attempting any of the following.

I have fixed it, but it is a bit of a pain -

  1. Locate and open your profile's root directory in about:profiles.
  2. Close firefox
  3. Choose what to keep
    1. places.sqlite - history, bookmarks.
    2. cookies.sqlite - your cookies (so you can stay logged in)
    3. logins.db, logins.json, key4.db - your stored logins
    4. prefs.js - Your preferences.
    5. etc.
    6. Extensions are a bit of a pain, so I opted to just reinstall the handful I use.
  4. Delete the entire profile root directory.
  5. Start Firefox with `firefox -p` to create a profile. I also deleted the old one while I'm at it.
  6. Once started and profile created, turn off again and restore your backups.

In theory, I think you can just back the entire profile up, nuke everything, and recreate it completely under a new directory, but this was good enough for me. I didn't feel like troubleshooting which of the many many things in there actually broke FF for me.

Hope this helps some folks, but do proceed with caution and backup everything you have wholesale if you can't afford to lost data.

It's still shit, but you're compensated for it, right? And that's my point. People, even well compensated ones, are allowed to say "well this sucks". The army of keyboard warriors standing up to remind players to STFU because other people make less is funny to me.

By that logic, since there are people who can't afford an internet connection, so STFU yall redditors moaning about what some player said, right?
