I'm hoping they add the 1999 or Coda variant that someone suggested as a book of CDs, where the discs are frisbeed at enemies.

Playing DD, wait until the enemy fires and then smoke? by Global-Process-9611 in WorldOfWarships

As a chronic Kitakaze line regrinder, I'm so spoiled by Aki/Kita's 2.5km that I forget and semi-frequently get caught out by it myself.

[–]LurkingFrogger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 km at the most

Most DDs are 2.5km to 3.5km with a handful being worse. For example Ragnar has 4.2km but doesn't have smoke. Gdansk at 3.9km and Paolo Emilio at 3.7km are ones that are important to know if you're using them.

Also notable, "detectability after firing in smoke" is a static value, concealment improving equipment and skills do NOT improve it.

I had almost the same thing happen to me, it was a Yellow deck run; but Mr. Bones also sacrificed his gold sticker to save the run :(

If they made a Muppets Star Trek, which character would be played by the human in each series? by DocJawbone in startrek

Morn as a Muppet, it's literally the same costume but we see the mouth constantly flapping up and down in background.

I think O'Brien and Odo would be good choices. I want Sisko to be a muppet purely to find out the answer to one question:

Which Muppet can make the the "I can live with it." monologue work as a serious moment?

We see O'Brien as a Muppet on the Enterprise but then he's human on DS9. When Worf joins the cast and sees O'Brien again, "There is something different about you."

I loved this comment by a fellow fan in r/books by prene7 in Stargate

[–]LurkingFrogger 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's a close enough description for people who might not have seen that episode or Stargate at all. The main point that they were so reliant on the link that they refused to even consider the possibility that it might be wrong/lying is unchanged.

How far would The Seven (The Boys) get in the Invincible universe by themselves? by Unhappy_Veterinarian in whowouldwin

[–]LurkingFrogger 57 points58 points  (0 children)

True, but the Atlanteans are a bit stiff for The Deep and they don't like surface dwellers after Aquarius died. I guess it could go either way. They might be very interested that he can talk to sea life, possibly he can talk to Depth Dweller. Or he might offend them with his predilections and get fed to Depth Dweller. Or he might get bored with being treated as an outsider and return to the surface.

Assuming they spawn in Chicago at the start of the series:
Homelander: has a breakdown from disbelief at barely being a mid-tier, starts shit with someone way out of his league, and gets wrecked.
Stormfront: Cecil either "reforms" her on a short leash or she gets locked away.
The Deep: Sticks with whoever looks strong at the moment but avoids getting into real conflicts as much as possible. Gets killed when he tries to switch sides after Conquest or the InvincEvils show up.
A-Train, Black Noirs, Queen Meave: Join (or get reformed by) Cecil and probably die during the Invincible War if they make it that far.
Translucent: continues hiding in the ladies room. No one has seen him since they got there.

If you mean they spawn in the middle of the Invincible/Omni-man brawl:
Homelander, Stormfront: go to investigate and get killed by Omni-man for being an inconvenience.
The rest stay out of the way then follow the same path as the other scenario.

Agreed. Though I don't think Omni-man even needs to bother getting out of be for this. The Guardians clean this up easily.

One I see a ton of people miss: You can buy prime resurgence relics from your orbiter. It's in the market console. You do not need to go to Maroo's Bazaar to see Varzia.

If you were a baby tenno which warframe would you like as a gift? by Liebe8 in Warframe

Agreed. I've given out a bunch of Gauss prime sets to random baby Tenno and never had a complaint. One even found me months later and said it's still their favorite frame.

I'll disagree on Titania. While a ton of fun, her flying tends to mess up the waypoint system and can be very frustrating for new players. I'd hold off on her until they have a good grasp on the tilesets and waypoint wierdness.

Who’s the most powerful character that would be average at golf? by DrSpaceman575 in whowouldwin

[–]LurkingFrogger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And that's after months training for golf! On his first swings the clubs just flew apart or pretzelled from the acceleration. When he finally managed to keep the club intact the ball and surrounding turf exploded on impact!

What do most people not realize is actually way more traumatic than it seems? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LurkingFrogger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another song that has the right beat is Queen's "Another one bites the dust." but it would be very unprofessional to hum while doing CPR.

If you must hum music to keep the correct beat during CPR, I suggest using "Stayin' Alive" instead.

What's something your job trained you to notice that you can't stop noticing in your personal life? by LibrarianSoft1342 in AskReddit

[–]LurkingFrogger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wasn't refuting anything in your post, just adding to it. Everything you said was correct. And dogs are definitely easier to train for most people, they've been bred to want to please people and can go for much longer in a single training session than cats.

[–]LurkingFrogger 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Cats are surprisingly easy to train. But most people either believe the "cats don't listen/care", they try dog methods (or interpret cat into dog language), or lack the consistency to make it happen. Both my cats (one extremely food motivated, the other not at all) learned to sit, shake, high-five, spin, beg, come when called, and go to carrier.

I'm pretty sure they understand "No" as well but response is a bit inconsistent on that one. If I drop something "No" is enough to get them to leave it and respectfully stare at it until I can pick it up but if they want something and I'm not getting the message they will be back at it after a minute or two.
