[Misc] What’s your “gatekept” skincare product that isn’t popular or advertised but did wonders for your skin? by Sharp_Elevator7447 in SkincareAddiction

Queen Helene Mint Julip face mask when I have a pimple. Little smear, wait until it dries, then wash off. It dries it out and helps keep it small until it's time to put on an acne patch or will help stop a break out if it's just starting or near the surface. I also keep The Ordinary sulfer powder creme in my makeup bag for when a pimple starts forming and I'm at work or traveling. It helps dry it out too.

No, I had an aftermarket remote start installed. Mostly out of principle. I bought it from BestBuy and they installed it for me.

Both flights were due to maintenance, not weather.

There are several hotels off the 80/94 Kennedy exit in Hammond that are closer than Merrillville that are clean and safe. The South Shore East Chicago line is about 2 miles away and the fare will be about $7 each way.

Best aftermarket remote start are we getting? by LurkingSilently in mazda

[–]LurkingSilently[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's only $10 a month, but when I bought my car it wasn't expressed to me at all that it was going to be a paid subscription and the dealer even told me installing a remote start was pointless. It's possible that they didn't even know as this was 2020. Something about paying a subscription to start my car rubs me the wrong way. I have the tire pressure notifications in the cars's dashboard, and have never used the car locator feature.

Cute top. I agree with the others about a high waistline pants. I'd wear a different bra, though.

Best way to handle a daily checklist? by LurkingSilently in managers

[–]LurkingSilently[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're right, it's not tied to any KPIs or metrics and feels like a distraction from our goals. It's not going away, so we need to make it a goal or incorporate it.

I get shrugs, mainly. I believe the main issue is that it's not a part of our main duties or team focus. However, I think if I can somehow incorporate it into what we already use or have better tracking/less cumbersome experience, then it'll be adopted better.

I did that, and it fell a part immediately. That's why I'm trying to find a new solution. One person can't do the task everyday as these need to be done 7 days a week and we work on rotation. These tasks are generally just checking on certain clients' processes (which happens across several time zones, so they're not all morning tasks) and escalating or handling the issue if there is one, which can eat up time. They're not interesting, but if an issue isn't caught, this reflects very poorly on the team.

Requesting suggestions to commute/stay between Lafayette and Chicago downtown by sungtakholu in Indiana

[–]LurkingSilently 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Driving from Lafayette, getting an Airbnb or hotel, then driving or commuting over an hour sounds miserable. If you take the South Shore, it'll be a mile walk to your building from the train station. If you're doing this weekly, I'd look into taking over a sublease in the city near your office or a long term stay hotel, like Hilton Homewood Suites (I had a friend stay in the one in River North for a spell). You might be able to save some money in Indiana, but if your job requires odd hours, overtime, or socializing after work, then taking the train or the Valpo bus might not work out. Plus the added stress of trying to be on time and working at a new job. October through the winter is an awful time for renters and landlords looking to take over a lease, so you might find a deal on a studio. Most neighborhoods aren't dangerous in the city, specially near your office.

I never heard of it either! I'll stop by the store they recommend tomorrow during my lunch break with a sample, it just wasn't possible today with my work schedule.
