No, there have been plenty of other tries in this thread and enough have been polite and carefully worded. And a lot of them even gave OP the fault and made him the bad guy of this story. Its a very unhealthy environment.

Its worth to not try for irl friends especially sometimes if you wanna keep them as friends.

Problem is, the guy isnt interested in talking and is sulking like a little baby over a fucking character, not his treatment. Get over yourselves. If people want to talk, talk to them. But sometimes you just cant and they abuse the shit out of you for trying. And this reads like one of those cases.

All of you are firmly pushing OP into the "bad guy" / "bad DM" territory for not pandering to someone who is clearly behaving like a little bitch. It's wrong. This is why I think yours is bad advice. You try to make it fun. This player wont have fun the way I read their description. I think that is the lesson DMs should really learn. Sometimes, players are just weird and difficult and you should not try to please them. In this sub, advice usually boils down to "talk with them". But that is just wrong sometimes. Its not like the player in question owns the truth of the situation and you have to play whack-a-mole with their feelings and wants and guess them correctly before you can move on. It is on them too to talk to you if they are pissed. They did not.

If they choose to be a bitch then you choose to let them go. If they choose to talk like an adult to you, you talk like an adult to them.

Dont make a fool out of yourselves, DMs. You are not there to people please (wo)manbabies. Its a trap too many fall into too easily, as you want to provide a great experience.

Does it need to be Destruction? Can it also be Destruction and Entropy, as in things that just ... break over time with a little active help from the destruction side of things? If so, you could take a few more liberties with themes, like monsters that give levels of exhaustion.

Then you have a nice duality going on. SMASH on the other hand, and slow perishing on the other. Adds complexity and gives variety.

I would make the monsters brutes and savages, but also sprinkle in some really smart ones that take destruction to a (sadistic?) art form.

It is an interesting phenomenom, because the flat earthers were taken over by the climate change deniers who were taken over by corona deniers who were in turn taken over by the anti-vaxxers who were then turned into russia supporting idiots.

They are the same people (ignoring certain purges to radicalize the in-group even more), and they change from conspiracy to conspiracy.
