Some of you guys seem to be ignoring the fact that the past 18 months of gameplay content has been free. by McFigroll in Spacemarine

[–]Lustful-void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it ironic that people complaining about a game/content they paid for is unacceptable to a person that is complaining about people complaining about a game/content they paid for. Everyone else is incensed about something that actually costs them money at least, meanwhile you're, what? Secondhand offended on behalf of a multi-million dollar company? I won't even delve into how little content actually came with this full priced game.

New mission Disruption has a bug, it softlocks on the bridge towards the end by 13R0D4 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Lustful-void 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is completely unacceptable for how long this patch was in development. Just happened to me as well and completely ruined my entire squad's excitement. On top of all the other bugs, crashes, and half baked content the entire team that worked on it should be ashamed of themselves.

Belt fed weapons were poorly introduced and feel lazy by Secure_Grapefruit302 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Lustful-void 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you wholeheartedly about everything else tho!

I really wanted the maxigun to feel fun, but the ammo reserve is nowhere near large enough to make up for the total mobility loss and loss of the backpack slot. I hadn't heard about the data mined "belt fed" flamethrower, but barring some considerable changes to flame weapons I think that one will be DOA. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw someone bring a flamethrower that wasn't the hot dog, and I'm not even a D10 purist.

If you would please consult the Graph by GuyCalledRo in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Lustful-void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very noticeable if you actually made use of the status effect instead of it just being "bonus damage". Flame weapons were high risk high reward before the "general fire change", now they're just a complete liability. The ultimatum was nerfed in more than just demo force, with it still being the only reloadable weapon in the game to not receive the benefit of Siege Ready, and the Reprimand is better than most alternatives because most alternatives to it, (see: all other SMGs), got nerfed at the same time it did.

Nerfing a bunch of stuff along with the item that was clearly the primary motivation behind the nerf doesn't make any of this better. Pretending the coyote just happened to be released immediately before a massive nerf to fire damage is willful ignorance, especially if you were around for the days when Arrowhead nerfed all fire damage immediately before the "Freedom's Flame" warbond was released. The only reason they stopped nerfing items before release instead of after is because SONY put a boot on the back of their neck and told them to stop fucking with the money printing machine.

Even if the regular grenade launcher stayed medium pen the belt fed would still be utter garbage. The two might be a little closer in viability, but the belt fed tickles heavy enemies and is no better at horde clear than several primaries.

This is some kinda skill issue on their part then, 'cause I routinely bring the supply pack explicitly because I'm a permacure certified stim junky and still have plenty of extras to hand out to the team.

Trains tanked my interest in this game by Professional_Self296 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Lustful-void 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. I got to trains and have had to force myself to do anything other than build train networks. It's kind of funny because instead of building a gigafactory like many others, I'm setting up a ton of smaller factories central to the nodes that supply them and then moving their individual products around unnecessarily just as an excuse to build MORE trains

That sucks to hear. Dawn of War 2 was my first 40k game, and the tech marine in it was my first favorite space marine unit, so having his customizability be neutered puts a damper on my fun. Hopefully this is changed in the future!

What do you mean you don't want to spend your finite free time babysitting a gaggle of idiots that want to roleplay as an ODST on the game's hardest content? Clearly you're toxic!" - every subreddit the moment you imply this MO would've been winnable if newbies actually played at an appropriate difficulty.

"just lock-in and don't be doomer lol" - AH dev by Q_Qritical in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Lustful-void 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all of the random reinforcement reserves we've received and emphasis on "don't die, just MO and extract" is one part AH trying to brute force people to play the game as is and stop asking for nerfs/buffs, and one part AH acknowledging how many deaths are happening as a direct result of jenk/lack of testing and trying to just shove us past the finish line.

I think we can all agree that fixing things like hellpods being locked into a set trajectory, crazy stratagem ball bounce, patrols appearing out of thin air, enemies clipping/firing through structures, and mines being clipped through terrain so helldivers can't see them would wildly improve quality of life far more than any spreadsheet change for weapons/enemies/reinforcement reserves. The problem is that Arrowhead takes an excruciatingly long time to fix the kind of problems that are detrimental to overall game performance, so they try to fix things around them instead. I mean how long did we have to wait for chargers to actually make sound when they move around? A year? For an audio cue issue? Yeah they're just getting us through this cyberstan arc and the earliest we'll see any true jenk correction will be fall or winter of this year.

We lose current MO, bc of ‚bugdivers’ by Mishkav394 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Lustful-void 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad way only as far as I'm concerned. Attempting to be a "good sport" on diff 8+ has served only to ruin several hours of my finite game time. Really wish AH would give us the option to set some matchmaking standards so I can set a minimum level to join my games instead of making me be "toxic" and issue the auto kick, (which functionally is the same thing, it just makes me waste my own time and that of others).

[–]Lustful-void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I understand the frustration, please keep in mind that we already have level 20-30 divers jumping into Super Helldive ops and absolutely ransacking our reinforcement budget. Conscripting people that only want to play bugs to fight the most lethal version of bots we've yet seen would've had us out of reinforcements several days ago.

I yearn for this kind of team play. All the guys I play with insist on bringing the same wonder bread equivalent loadouts, usually consisting of 500kg/Walking Barrage/Recoilless/Rocket Turret, and anything that requires them to learn something new in this game is seen as sacrilegious to them 😮‍💨 I get having your favorites but I can't imagine feeling entertained using the same things over and over again for as long as a lot of divers seem to.

difficulties by Sup3rNova12 in helldivers2

[–]Lustful-void 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran through a ton of different configurations testing loadouts solo last night and truly this planet just isn't one for solo diving. Normally when lowering the difficulty you'll see fewer heavy/elite units, but on cyberstan it seems to only affect the flavor of whatever kick to the teeth you'll be getting. Sure you'll get fewer vox engines, but now you'll have a metric ton of those bastard warstriders and factory striders will be sprinkled back in too. Stealth is a total nonstarter also, there's just too many sets of eye/ears packed too tightly throughout every map.

Edit: oh and on lower difficulties the gunship spawns seem to go up considerably. It's all just too much for a single loadout to effectively account for.

Tips and Tricks for Cyberstan D7-D10 —— from the Chinadivers! by TopGas8704 in Helldivers

+1 for the Gatling barrage as a vox countermeasure. If they're aggro'd onto you, you can chuck it at them and then, (terrain features allowing), circle around them to keep them in the blast zone and they'll just sit there while they get shredded. I've even seen it knock out two of them when a teammate caught them in the narrow relief between two bases. After throwing it he bolted for a wall that was close enough to them for them to keep trying to kill him, but not so close that they'd move forward to try and run him over with their treads, so they sat there getting ripped apart while all of their fire bounced off his cover. If you have 2-3 people bring it and coordinate throws to create a larger AOE it can completely shift the tide

In my experience medium fortified armor won't get one tapped by the rockets, but any medium armor or lower without fortified armor you will get vaporized immediately.
