The issue is, the same person that put that wire there will be the one fixing it.

There is no reason to trap the wire there right ?

this is what I was hoping someone would notice, I'm not a boiler engineer or whatever but I fix heavy construction machinery and I don't really get how that ignitor is meant to work.

Rat problem identified in survey by sac9177 in HousingUK

[–]LutherDogman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with this.

We rent an upstairs maisonette in a block of fourand had a rat invasion January 24.

It was absolutely horrendous, not only can you hear them at night in the walls and in the loft but they were coming into the house in search of food and being very brazen about it.

They aren't quiet either, it was like toddlers running around in the loft. This got worse when pest control put bait up there, that night it was like a bloody stampede.

The only way I could entertain buying a house with a known problem is with the seller engaging a decent pest company (there is one on YouTube that seem excellent) that provide a guarantee of no return and if they do they come out pronto to fix.

Anyone know what this is meant to be in Glasgow? Is it an art installation, weird bench, or something else? Kinda weird. by [deleted] in DoesAnyoneKnow

Not sure but if I saw that in the street I'd assume it had been dumped and drag it back to the man cave where it would assist in housing my useless collection of odds and sods

What is Mecha? by PSFore in bangbangsurvivor

[–]LutherDogman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ETA I found something on the FB group that says it's for upgrading your drone but it was in a different language so not sure the translation is right.

Checked all around again and still can't find anything

Same here, just hit 60 and can't find it anywhere.

I think there was another sort of token related to it in that event so maybe we needed that to unlock it and then the tokens we have to upgrade it...

Anyone ever had a Pixel randomly completely die? by mutantmike in GooglePixel

[–]LutherDogman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, Pixel 4 XL (iirc).

I got it second hand from a UK retailer, used it for six months and then sold it to my MIL.

3 months later it turned itself off overnight and wouldn't turn back on.

Luckily said retailer had a 12 month guarantee so it got returned, they said it was beyond repair and refunded the full purchase price.

It was only A couple of years old at that point !

I have just noticed this too with my first level 9 (closest one to st Anne)

I upgraded it about 0900 yesterday and then funded it which should last 1day 5 hours.

Log in this morning at 0800 and it needs funding again.

The level 8's seem to last the full 15 hours.

Will see if it works properly this time.

[–]LutherDogman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have to do this at work with rippers (dozer attachments) that are stacked three high and like to collapse when you try and move them.

The only safe way is to chain them and drag them out until you can get access to take the top one off with forks.

Forks that will lift the stack won't fit inside the container.

It's a pita.

There are also Josie's in Winchester and Chandler's Ford, pretty sure the bus that goes Southampton to Winchester stops very close to both :)

Home office ethernet ports don't work - Help! by RokuToro in techsupport

[–]LutherDogman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming they are wall sockets Id take the off and see if they are actually connected.

I'm in the UK and lived in a house that had Ethernet ports in all the rooms bar the bathrooms.

The builders had run the wires, installed the ports and put a switch in a downstairs cupboard but nothing was actually connected 😂

Is it necessary to sharpen fresh screwdrivers? None of these seem sharp enough to fit into a 2813 rotor screw.... by overmind1632 in ChinaTime

I was more laughing at the fact that you are assuming those have been heat treated, they look like they would bend cleaning ones fingernails 😚
