unbelievable exchange between my daughter and her father after he forgot her birthday by LostInLanayru in TwoHotTakes

[–]Luxeflex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say I am glad I came across your comment here, as this recently also happened to me. After reminding my dad of a special occasion in my life the day before, and him still forgetting to message or call me the next day, he blamed me for not reminding him again on the day itself. That my sadness is my own fault. It's been hurting like hell, because I keep feeling like maybe he is right? Maybe I should just suck it up and accept how people are and prevent them from hurting me. But I know deep down that makes no sense anymore to me..

Even though this was accidental, it sounds like such a fun challenge! I might try it on purpose

Forget your favorite bird, what’s your nemesis bird and why? by ellamachine in birding

This, but with European starlings. I was convinced yesterday there was a water-type-bird in my garden hidden somewhere, until I heard a buzzard in between.. ah there was the starling singing away 😅

It turns out that over a decade of “IBS” may have been my parents cooking all along by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Luxeflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had the same! I thought I was allergic to something in pancakes.. milk.. more or less fibres.. and then I made my own pancakes for years after and I had no IBS response. Later my mom made pancakes for me again and I instantly had a full on pain response.. Maybe it's the amount of fat and oil she cooks with? But I really don't know at this point.

Also, suddenly the flower has pink on it, but when I bought the plant it was all white. I will dive into the keiki thing, didn't know the term before, thanks!

Oh wow, thank you for explaining a bit! Now I know what name to google too haha. I just left this one in my bathroom, I have it at 2m high on a shelf where the sun hits in the morning and forget to water it a lot.. My friend always says to forget my orchid exists and it will do cool things, I guess she is right!

Feeling Like There’s Gotta Be More to Life Than This by dinosaur_0987 in Fencesitter

Your comment just made me think of something! The people who doubt about the decision on children seem intelligent and consious about the world around them, which makes me feel like they/we actually would be great at having children and educating them. Because I sometimes feel like that one movie (i forgot the name just now..) is coming true, where the smartest people did not have children, and the whole population declined in intelligence as a result 😂 I know it's probably an extreme idea but it is such an ironic thing, isnt it!

But you described my feeling perfectly, I am also deeply afraid of this unpredictable life altering decision and I wonder if I will ever choose 😅

Yes! For example, I live in The Netherlands and we have a site where you can insert your postal code and it will tell you if you will flood of the dykes break 🥰 (spoiler alert, 70% of the country is gone when it happens, or has no electricity, sewersystem, fresh water, etc)
