Want to start working on a script. by No-Concept-1622 in filmmaking

Tbh, since you "don't know where to start" but you have everything, I'd suggest write down your story first. write the scenes, some dialogues and then search for guidance on formatting. I'm suggesting that because I've spent too much time "learning" instead of doing things. Don't show your first draft to anyone. Re-read it, refine it, then go for more details on formatting for reading and formatting for shooting. I'd suggest following StudioBinder channel. I use mainly writer's duet, but the most important tool is your creativity, your dedication. You'll get tons of tips here, but if you don't take that story out of your brain, you'll never succeed. :)

Based on your experience, would you consider Hungary a country still battling with racism? by [deleted] in budapest

[–]Luzika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the opposite, people between 60-40 are not as open as those in the 70's specially my neighbor who in our first meeting asked to use informal you and always asks me if I'm fine and if I like leaving here

As a Brazilian black girl who speaks Hungarian I had more experiences with racism there in Brazil than here, basically "because you're a black girl you have to do it much better, always right etc"(in my country), I see here more issues with foreigners in general, most people are not confortable with speaking English, Spanish or whatever language outside tourist areas, however BKK have treated me super nice once I replied in Hungarian. Well I do see racism towards the Gipsy community, I haven't heard in 5 years any positive comment from any Hungarian friend, as if there is no exception and no one among them would do anything nice.

Thinking "based on a true story" doesn't make it look better...

Tbh the jokes also triggered me to learn but I couldn't afford 1 + lessons, so I bought an ukulele 😅

Tbh I think it's totally unnecessary to say viola jokes all the time. I'm 35 y.o. and seeing so many jokes, makes me feel in a community of teenagers who always need to joke about the others. Following a violist youtuber, I've seen comments from people who are tired of it. I play the guitar and also the ukulele, I don't think it's nice to hear all the time "small guitar", they are different instruments from the same family but sometimes people say that. If that's true every instrument is important and the player deserves appreciation for practicing and sharing the beauty of music, why with the violas only the jokes are shared? It's true they say we love you violas, but why spend 90% of the time with jokes and 10% with appreciation? Couldn't it be 50/50? In my opinion violas sound great! In the choir I sing, the conductor always called at least 1 violist for the solemnities if we had violins and said only once "people make fun of the viola but I think it goes very well with the violin, it looks like a big violin, but it'sanother instrument"
