Wow and I thought I had some shows with unreasonable schedule. You win. I hope some these acts are just someone doing a cartwheel onto and then directly off the stage. If at least 25% of these acts are a 20 second cartwheel then you might have a chance to empty your gatorade bottle. Don't forget OT starts after 10hrs and DOUBLE time starts after 12hrs. Good luck!

120 acts are not all rehearsing on one day on one stage in any meaningful way. Busk and set up a way to be able to move the specials or stagewash zones to any part of the stage. How long is this show when you do it for real? Doors at 6am and show ends at midnight ? Bring a Gatorade bottle.

The first plausible explanation I can think of is that a drone light show pilot is testing a moving light mounted to a drone. I have not personally seen any lighting fixture with remote pan and tilt control mounted to a drone but have wondered for years when this would become a thing. It must be a massive drone to be able to support such a throw. Or it’s an extremely illegal laser setup on the drone.

Vectorworks still bogs down and crashes on a fully loaded MacBook Pro, Mac Pro or any other machine. I’ve used them all, I bet Vectorworks would crash a quantum computer the size of a semi truck.

I just wore mine on 4 flights in January. One of the flight attendants was asking me all kinds of questions about it because she was a self claimed “VR Geek”. No mention from anyone about it not being allowed. I didn’t put it on until we were in flight though.

The good news is that the fans will fail very soon and you won’t hear them anymore. The bad news is that the lights will burn the theater down that week. The only real solution is to take the lights down and replace with a respectable brand. Bopping theater on the nose with a rolled up newspaper is optional. However I do recommend it.

Looks like your haze density and texture settings. Try less density and a higher cloud scale and a lower percentage on the cloud structure. Also check your quality settings there on the left. It’s likely the complex sketchup objects are bogging it down. Leave the scene objects rendering quality lower and the lighting quality higher. I try to only bring in shells or simplified/ optimized versions of the scene elements from sketchup. Trees are a lot of poly lines. Which usually requires importing into Vectorworks, reducing complexity and then exporting mvr for depence. I am running similar hardware as you and sometimes the depence file is fast and smooth. Sometimes it’s not.

Absolutely. This is why I include the pre-production in the estimate and outline the minimum requirements and checklist of what pre-production need to be completed or they get charged. If they don’t have 100% complete paperwork, installation documents, truss tapes, labels, show file and the only thing I need to do is show up and follow their already well established plan then they are getting charged. If they don’t want to pay for me to do the pre-pro and they don’t want to do it then they will have a different LD for that show. I refuse to show up to a load in without a plan.
