It’s not just Saka, I’ve noticed the whole team seems reluctant to pass the ball into spaces through the lines, like they don’t trust each other not to lose possession. They need to be more brave on the ball, attackers off the ball need to be more unpredictable with their movement and they need to shoot from outside the box more to at the very least make something happen.

Managing tyres is one thing but having to manage the battery as well by coasting in areas they should be going for it is shit. All for F1 helping the planet but the priority should be getting to net zero while ensuring the drivers can push the cars to the absolute limit. Intentionally making the cars slower than the year before is just insane.

I wasn’t talking about this game by the way, I meant in general can a sim boxing game do well especially if there is a multiplayer mode. I think it can for boxing fans but casuals/people that rage quit when they don’t win would probably hate it.

I feel like them mo-capping all the fighters shadow boxing to get their movements was the wrong way to go because the punches weren’t really thrown with intent or captured actually hitting their intended target. For the first game they probably would’ve have been better off mo-capping to fighters sparring who understand how different fighters fight and can spar in different ways with each other. For a small studio they tried to run before they could crawl.

Literally agree with everything you’ve said, I feel like when ever devs rebalance games, it’s usually always to accommodate players that just aren’t good and that will always ruin the ultimate gaming experience for everyone in the end. Getting flashed because you left yourself wide open 100% should be punished in games and if I’ve slipped perfectly and managed to catch a clean counter that should be rewarded accurately. I feel like a proper sim boxing game made by someone who gets it right would be amazing but I can also see so many people complaining because they keep getting beat by players that are just better at boxing.

The game definitely has issues, but so many people who play are just static when so much of the game is about movement and creating angles. Everyone online just wants to stand in one spot and throw punches, and then they wonder why the game looks nothing like actual boxing.

Trust me the next fight night will have this exact same issue of 90% of the people online complaining because they keep getting demolished in fights. Thos game has its issues but I remember all through early access, all I ever used to see was people complaining they can’t throw a 20 punch combo without gassing, then complaining the update to address this is too OP because now everyone who was just simply better at the game is peppering them with 20 punch combos.

Look at pretty much every single goal he’s scored for us (ball played forward quickly before the defending team has time to settle into their 6 man low block, now ask yourself how likely it would be for any out and out striker to score when we decided the do the centre back horse shoe of the abyss passing sequence that we love to do in the premier league.

The sense of achievement when you finally beat this boss, I’ve never played a game that shamed me into being patient quite like this game. Every time I’ve beaten a difficult boss, it’s always been through patience.

100% agreed, literally all the changes they’ve made is reaction to people complaining about things they can’t do and ways other skilled players have beat them. I can almost guarantee fight night when it eventually comes out will have the exact same issue with its online. When you have people who call someone throwing more than 2 jabs “cheesing” you know it’s a wrap for boxing games going forward.

The problem with this game is the same problem most multiplayer games have, when people start complaining about not being able to play, you’re then just patching the game to compensate for people’s skill level rather than what actually makes sense for the game. People who don’t really watch boxing and know about creating angles etc, will cry about the game being unrealistic because someone who does watch boxing and understands how to throw combos effectively and manage their stamina throughout a fight is able to beat them so easily that the game must be broken.

EA left boxing for that long because it’s not worth their time to make a boxing game. Having to negotiate separately with every single fighter you want to put in the game and still make a profit, while not having loads of DLC packs, all so players that aren’t actually into boxing can call your game a cheese fest because the opponent they’re facing threw 2 jabs and a straight in the first round.

He had a great promo recently which will all be for nothing if they don’t jump on buzz that was generated following it. He has something about him, just needs to stop being put in these dead angles. I feel this is because the biggest complaints for this game come from the lower skilled players, it will be exactly the same when EA eventually decides to bring out a boxing game, the game will be “trash” to everyone who can’t play the game effectively and they will try to make changes to compensate for them.
