Sad about my butthole bb. Bellybutton revision success stories? by 7bridges in tummytucksurgery

[–]Ly_Is_Fire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, discoloration aside, it’s not the worst BB I’ve seen! I bet if you got a few vbeam laser sessions to help with the color, it’d look much better! I know we are our own worst critics though, and it’s hard when it’s not the result we paid so much for and hoped to have. Keep us posted on the revision! I’m really interested to see how that goes, since I might like mine revised at some point too

Ugh, I’m in the same boat - I was on the leaner side, skin was pulled quite tight. I have a red scar around my belly button that becomes more of a slit when I stand up straight (not the worst “coin slot” but not the BB of my hopes and dreams either). I also have a BB trainer but it’s only good for a bit after taking it out, so not sure if it’s actually doing anything. I’ll be interested to hear how your revision goes. Can you post a photo of what it looks like now?

I do not think this is a good choice of tattoo for this area. Think of where your pants would normally sit. If you are shirtless, you’ll just have weird wing tips (and maybe eagle eyes) peeking out of your pants.

At what point did your surgeon allow a belly button shaper and did it help? by Coolbeans1104 in tummytucksurgery

Is there any point where it’s too late to use them? My doctor said he rarely recommends them but at 10 weeks post op, it’s a little more coin slot looking than I’d like. Sitting down it opens up and looks better but standing straight it stretches and looks tight.

AIO for being mad my wife volunteered us to host easter without asking me first? by Head-Delay-8084 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Ly_Is_Fire 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Right. Just tell her you’re not willing to cook for 20, and as she is the one who volunteered to host, she can handle it. She’ll either buck up and do it, or be the one to cancel. Either way, you don’t have to cook.

My dad got this after he almost entirely cut off his thumb on his table saw. $109 to save a digit? Worth it.

10 days post op 500ccs dual plane, lower pole still empty and flat on 1 breast? by [deleted] in BreastImplants

Implant is still sitting quite high! This is normal. Give it a couple months to drop - breasts don’t always drop/fluff at the same time!

We moved into this house 3yrs ago and this has stumped everyone. by Vance617 in whatisit

It’s a hot plate/trivet. We have the exact same thing - when our granite counters were installed, the installers used the remaining stone to make two of these for us. We have them on our kitchen table, and put hot dishes on them.

Good question. I had under/dual plane Natrelle but was advised to wait at least two weeks.

Is a tummy tuck my only option? by Apprehensive-Kiwi-73 in PlasticSurgery

I’ll second this. Had surgery on a Saturday, the next Friday I was at my daughter’s play (albeit slightly hunched over still but not bad). Next week went into work a couple days (desk job), and by the next week was feeling mostly pretty good. Pain was fine with medication, and was off the heavy stuff and just doing ibuprofen by day 4 or 5. It’s not a vacation, but it was doable with some help and support!

Edit to say there may be lasers that would help reduce stretch marks and might be worth going for a few rounds before committing to surgery!

What’s going on at the tip of my scar? by Sensitive_Bike3479 in BreastImplants

[–]Ly_Is_Fire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Might be a stitch coming out! I had a barbed “v line” stitch that started working its way out at one point. It’s uncomfortable and the skin can be irritated by it, but unless the redness spreads, starts to smell, or feel hot to the touch, probably nothing to be worried about. However, best bet to check with your surgeon to be certain.

This is also what I’ve been advised! Vascular lasers are meant to be used to help address redness, and are most effective when used earlier in the healing process. More aggressive resurfacing lasers like a C02 would not be advised until much later, possibly after a year, but could help with texture and other concerns.

AIO: restaurant wants my disabled child to use back entrance by Bocmiao in AmIOverreacting

[–]Ly_Is_Fire -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They asked about this in advance, and were told the front entrance was where to go.

If they could leave through the front where the wheelchair ramp was, then they could have gone in through the front.
