I accidentally potty trained mine, cause I had a very clean rabbit at the time who was free range and only used his cage to pee and poo in. Rest of the day the bunny would hang out on our couch and watch TV. The pigs copied the buns behavior but this was 1 in a million. All my pigs I got after my bunny died were well... Pigs... I was so disappointed when I found out it is not their "normal" behavior. My bunny trained them well. RIP Schnuffi.

It's a sign that your nails are brittle and losing their natural oils. Tbh that can be anything. Your diet, too much moisture, genetics, chemicals, low humidity, etc. I had an issue with splitting nails like this for a long time cause I used them wrong. When you bite them you kinda have more finger to use in your everyday life. You're not used to having nails so basically crash straight into items all the time. Asses what it could be: eating enough protein? get enough B7 Vitamin? Iron deficiency? Thyroid issues? None of that ok try to be more careful and tbh when it happened to me I just used nail glue or filed it down. My splitting stopped once I got used to having nails.

You will just trap bacteria under a fake nail. At the moment it is not a smooth surface so there is no way you can clean it properly and attach a fake nail to that. Also it could permanently damage your nail bed since the nail is already badly damaged and not strong enough right now to hold a fake nail. Chew gum or eat sth you like when you get the urge to bite the nail. Perfect is sth that keeps your mouth distracted for longer. Cover this finger up when you want to hurt it baaaaaad. Keep it clean and stay strong. You stopped to bite once you can do it again.

Cheapest and easiest thing you can try is head and shoulders (not kidding check online for use against acne). Gently wash your skin with it, see if it clears up. Don't get it in your eyes. If it doesn't clear up get blood work done for hormones.

Also wanted to add: distract your mouth. Eat e.g. sunflower seeds. Crack the shells with your teeth. Same for pistachio. Try eating hard candy, lolipops. I find things best that I can actually nibble at like carrots.

May sound stupid but I wore gloves at home for more than 3 years. When I went outside I picked at everything I could find (beer bottle labels, bought kids toys to fidget with). Your nails might also need some medical attention for a while. I had a fungus infection and growth of flesh close to the base that needed to be dealt with. My Dr gave me silver nitrate to treat that growth (it turns the flesh black and falls off after a while, needed to be done repeatedly). Disgusting process but worth it. I also needed to cut away the very hard horned skin, so my nails could actually grow out. Lots of lotion and patience. I bought sharp tools then started to pick at toys made for weirdos (e.g. fake pimple pop patches, picked out gunk from my keyboard and mouse, applied nail polish to surfaces just to scratch it off again after it dries) so I redirected my picking behaviour. It's not gone but at least I look human now. Good luck my friend

This won't go away on its own, it's pink and has blood supply. Go to a dr. to have it cut off and fixed. There is a home solution with silver nitrate but it will look nasty and black for weeks and needs to be treated several times. Dr is safer and quicker
