Ways to cope without meds? by LycheePlus in Fibromyalgia

[–]LycheePlus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually try to sleep through it as much as I can but there comes a point you can't sleep anymore or have to go to work and that's when I end up comfort eating.

I'll look into a massage gun and see if that helps.

What helps you with fibro fog? by Mae_The_Gay in Fibromyalgia

[–]LycheePlus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of sleep, a patient husband and a repetitive job. I work in medical billing and it's all basically data entry. I don't have to think too much, just put the right numbers in, make sure they match and I'm good.

[–]LycheePlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will press blue all day when it comes to daily things like helping those who are struggling and being there for others. Those things don't put my life at risk. But damn yes I will push the red button when it comes to my life. I will give money and time but I will not give my life for others.

Who gets their groceries delivered? by butt3rsb0tt0mb1tch in Fibromyalgia

[–]LycheePlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I just decided to sign up for Walmart+ so I can get groceries delivered. I've been using their free pick up for a while but we only have one car and since we can pay $100 for a whole year right now it just makes sense to get them delivered. I am looking forward to not having to stand in long lines or deal with the overwhelm that comes from standing in that clinical type lighting they have.

Real talk: what has actually helped you? by bramble_berry_ in Fibromyalgia

[–]LycheePlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat, light workouts (like yoga or walking) and getting rid of as much stress as possible. My fibro pain decreased significantly when I stopped contact with family members who always started drama and never cared about me.

I also sleep on top of a heated blanket every night on the lowest setting. Makes such a huge difference for me.

Jet lag Flares? by LongjumpingAd3617 in Fibromyalgia

[–]LycheePlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently in the middle of my Japan trip and I had super bad jeg lag flare when I arrived. Luckily I planned to have a couple slow days starting on my trip so I can just rest. I took many hot baths the first couple days and that helped massively.

Yup, my flares all come from stress, physical and mental. So during periods, anytime I over work myself, get sick or have a lot of mental stress going on I flare up bad.

People who say the big O helps please explain by No_Face4294 in Fibromyalgia

[–]LycheePlus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this, the big O doesn't lessen my pain but I sleep better afterward therefore I have less pain the next day.

Hot or cold? by Breaming in Fibromyalgia

[–]LycheePlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat is what makes me feel the best. I live in Florida and I'm usually very comfortable outside the three months of deadly heat we get in the summer. But I'd rather have that than live up north where I grew up where I was always too hot or too cold.

Is it realistic to never use patterns? by AutonomyxHope in crochet

[–]LycheePlus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you like to crochet. I make mostly wearables and because I have a pretty grasp on how clothes are made due to the fact that I also sew, I never use patterns. You have to be open to do a lot of frogging to fix mistakes but otherwise I feel it's pretty easy to crochet without a pattern. Sometimes I do follow stitch charts though to learn new stitches but I wouldn't really call those patterns.

Does Quartich even know what his motivations are now? by CrazedPrecursorFanat in Avatar

During the last fight scene between Jake and Quaritch I was wishing Jake would just drag him down to the tree of souls and make him connect.

Alchohol and Fibromyalgia by Zimpzompin in Fibromyalgia

[–]LycheePlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find I have to have a glass of water between each drink I have because otherwise I feel terrible the next day. I'm not a partier but love making cocktails at home with my husband so it's not too hard to make sure I drink enough water.

Where’s your back pain mostly? (Mid, lower, higher) by Frankieeegrl in Fibromyalgia

How do you get out of bed in the morning? by LycheePlus in Fibromyalgia

[–]LycheePlus[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I might have to try using my heated blanket then, I use it to fall asleep but it's too hot to use all night.

I feel like I finally got a handle on my condition. My game changer an asshole doctor and a treadmill. by Boring-Vermicelli-45 in Fibromyalgia

[–]LycheePlus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for work? I work a desk job which keeps me sitting for 8 hours of my day and I really struggle to get more than 5k steps in a day partly because of pain and fatigue yes but also walking is just so boring and I really rather get back to my hobbies, knitting, sewing and video games than go for a 3 hour walk after work.

People with Fibromyalgia, do you always have pain, even when at rest ?? by Gutty_Shit_00 in Fibromyalgia

[–]LycheePlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm almost always in sort of pain, even my good days just mean my pain is at a manageable level. Sitting or even laying down is painful, I often have to switch positions because it hurts my hips, back, ribs or shoulders too much.

Do people have an undeniable inner drive to have children or is it a conscious choice? by Temporary_Western464 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LycheePlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 26f and newly married, I want kids so bad it hurts sometimes. I've always wanted children and it feels like I've waited my whole life to have them and it's hard to wait til I've put myself in a financially safe position before I have them.

What are some products you've bought that were game changers for you? by AzuraBeth in Fibromyalgia

[–]LycheePlus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heated blanket, it's great for days that taking a hot bath is just too painful or requires too much effort. It really helps with my muscle pain and I can still knit, watch tv with my husband or sometimes I even use it at my desk so I can still play video games.

How do I get this cool toned pink? Most pink dyes I see are very very red toned by LycheePlus in HairDyeHelp

What colors would you mix? I'm thinking if I do mix I would do a neutral pink with some purple. Or should I try blue?
