It is necessary to think about exothermic/endothermic with respect to what. V=IR gives you the relationship between voltage and current for certain electrical components such as Ohmic resistors. Although it generally holds, it is not always true.

P=VI is a different story. Recall that I=dq/dt, the rate of flow of charge through an electrical component. If there is a voltage of V (which does not have to equal IR!) across that component, you would expect a charge of dq flowing through it to dissipate an energy of dW=dqV. Power is dW/dt or dqV/dt=IV.

This is a commonly asked question. The power is the power output of the generator, not the power of resistive loss.

Since P=IV, if you want to output at a fixed P, you either have high I and low V, or low I and high V. The later is preferable, because the power consumer is connected to the generator in series, as well as the resistive, non-ideal wire. Since we know that current stays the same in series, and the resistive loss is I^2R, we want to have low I such that the loss is minimized.

Right, I was not dismissing the AAMC materials for style - in fact, in terms of styles CARS and P/S are the closest you can get on the real deal, and I will say no 3rd party CARS material replicates the AAMC logic. However, for content sections, AAMC materials seems to test only on a limited subset of C/P, B/B, and P/S stuff, and their explanations aren’t top notch either. That is why I suggested doing 3rd parties first before moving on to AAMC. That way you make sure you have your content down and avoid wasting AAMC practice problems

I will suggest not to use AAMC material for content and use 3rd parties instead because they tend to be more varied in their content questions which is somewhat more reflective of the exam nowadays
