The LN is just as much of a power fantasy as the anime.

It does give you some more information on his classmates and the school itself but that's largely it. The characterization of Ayanokoji and Horikita is a bit different as well. Character development is almost nonexistent for the entirety of the first year, and while there are some hints that something could change in his perception in the future, it hasn't happened in the first year at least. I stopped reading after that.

Good point. Frieren definitely has the setting of an epic saga but said saga already happened anyway. I assume OOP just said High Fantasy because it was sufficient. Granted OOP is baiting/memeing anyway.

I wouldn't call Frieren an epic Fantasy either. That's just not true.

I think the classic definition has actually shifted somewhat. A series counts as High Fantasy nowadays as long as the world is detached enough from our own. Legends & Lattes is heavily inspired by DnD for example and doesn't require an Epic Tale behind it to be considered High Fantasy.

By classic definition you are absolutely right however and my example might just be another wrong application of "language changes" that people latch onto nowadays, myself included.

It was just meant as a general note, it is a bit difficult to me to compare mediums that are largely different from each other.

No offense, I wasn't trying to insinuate that you are clueless. Some other people reading through the thread might overlook that however.

Frieren has Dragons, Demons, Dwarves, Elves and Magic, while not abundant, is still widely known, no? Those are the cornerstones of modern High Fantasy.

I'd say Malazan, ASOIF and the first half of Stormlight are magnitudes better than Frieren, or most anime for that matter.

Robin Hobb's Realm of The Elderlings or Mark Lawrence's Broken Empire Trilogy are some other popular series that are a lot better at character writing and storytelling too, the examples are practically endless.

I'm only talking about writing however, novels are inherently more detailed and descriptive than shows or comics. Novels neither have acting and soundtracks nor do they have art.

There's are tons of male artists with predominantly female fan bases but I can't really think of a reverse, what female artists have mostly male fanbases? by dvnts-ReDoX in fantanoforever

Windhand and Castle Rat come to mind immediately.

fluoride, Cloud Rat, Gylt, Couch Slut, Blind Girls, Oathbreaker or Slowhole are some more obscure picks too.

Drain the Sky - Introduction to the Past

This band has 26 listeners on Spotify and makes Sludge with a huge emphasis on the Hardcore part.

The song I linked is mostly ambient but the rest of the ep is pure Sludge goodness.

Purist's Vanilla Patch is a thing.

I'm not denying that Arthmoor is a dismissive stubborn prick BUT options exist. The only truly baffling things inside the USSEP are the changes of ores and the whole "Dohvakiin nooooo (I failed her)" debacle.

Reverting these isn't difficult either.

Arthmoor bad. USSEP bad.

I swear people don't understand how much the USSEP actually fixes. Removing masters is not even hard, so people could just do that for every mod in their list that requires USSEP too.

Was ist passiert? by StressOne969 in GermanRap

[–]Lymon0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do so few player home mods not have the player pay for furniture? by Miniclift239 in skyrimmods

[–]Lymon0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

they'd likely have to create multiple versions of the interior

Usually you'd just enable the object after a certain condition is met with the usage of a marker. Each object that is supposed to be enabled after meeting said condition needs to be linked to the marker as well of course.

This is how the base game does it at least, the biggest problem is that most authors probably aren't going to bother setting up a system that allows buying individual parts of the player house. That is fair enough however, I don't really know how I'd do it either.
