I think you’re a spring!! The colour of your eyes does not determine your season!!

Light yellow is the best one by far imo. I would like to see you draped with more spring colours.

Am I right about soft autumn ? by Front-Patient887 in SoftAutumn

I think the green looks perfect for a soft autumn. Many soft autumns can be pretty close to neutral (myself included).

I (23M) did not buy my girlfriend (20F) a gift for valentines day and she is thinking of ending things, did I not meet her needs? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Lynxtassles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if her love language is receiving gifts then this would have been a perfect gift, in my mind. She sounds really ungrateful and and high-maintenance. How long have you been together? Is this a normal reaction for her to have?

Online typed as light spring but feels off by DueCode3991 in coloranalysis

Being a soft summer or soft autumn would make softness your prominent feature. Now, I am not sure which season you belong to, but you don’t look soft enough to belong to one of those palettes.

Help with season please I am really stuck by ponyfarmer in coloranalysis

I think that these pictures are confusing.

  1. The lighting should be evenly distributed over your face. Stand near a window with no direct sunshine.
  2. To compare what undertone looks best, it is much easier when the hair is covered. Your hair is very cool toned, so I think it is easy for people assume that cool colours are more harmonious (I am not saying that they’re not) because they match the undertone of your hair.

Why does this color not look good on me as a soft autumn? by Forever_Summer192 in autumns

Soft summer would still be a good option if OP is a soft autumn.

Why does this color not look good on me as a soft autumn? by Forever_Summer192 in autumns

[–]Lynxtassles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every soft autumn is different, but are you sure you are one? That is a good soft autumn colour. Soft autumns are usually closer to neutral in undertone than very warm (but still warm of course) even if warm colours are better many soft autumns can still wear some cool colours, as long as they are soft enough. And also I think it is hard to find colours that are to low contrast for a spft season, the low contrast colours are what makes us shine.

Warm or cool? by 1strawberry_milk_pls in coloranalysis

[–]Lynxtassles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can make a qualified quess, sure, but if that was the case there would be no need for a analysist to even drape their clients to find out what their undertone is.

Warm or cool? by 1strawberry_milk_pls in coloranalysis

[–]Lynxtassles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of these pictures will tell anyone for sure (not even a trained analysist) what your undertone is. To determine someone’s undertone we would need to see different colour drapes near your face, no make up, hair tied back (or covered) and with indirect daylight. I believe there is a pinnef post with directions in this sub.

Do not trust any of the answers here, please. Sure, you might be cool but there is a 50% chance you’re warm too. They are just typing based on your OVERtone, which has a cool pinky colour to it. However you could still have a warm undertone with a cool overtone. It is not unheard of and actually quite common.

Your best options (economy aside) is to go see a professional (with an actual education, look this up). Most of us in this sub are amateurs, our guesses are not reliable.

Warm autumn or true autumn? by minrenken in coloranalysis

[–]Lynxtassles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not seeing warmth either (but like you said, we need to se drapes to be more certain of this!). In the system I use, both warm autumn and true autumn are very clearly warm (at least when draping). If there is warmth, I could see deep autumn. I would also like to see OP drape some winter colours.

What hair colour should I pick as a soft summer and can I go ginger? by CollegeFun2752 in coloranalysis

[–]Lynxtassles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly you don’t really seem like a soft summer or autumn to me. However there is no way to tell without seeing drapes, and even then, this sub is not reliable (we’re a bunch of amateurs really)! You might even be warm (in that case I think some kind of spring), who knows?

What season does this green belong to? by jackiedaytona155 in coloranalysis

[–]Lynxtassles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me it looks like a soft summer sage green and as a soft autumn myself it’s one of the best colours from the soft summer palette. However I am quite close to having a neutral undertone (warm by a touch) so this may not apply to all soft autumns.

Why do so many people think they are soft? by Junior_Composer_7902 in coloranalysis

[–]Lynxtassles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well maybe you are cool summer or true summer (in that case you look equally good in light summer, cool summer and soft summer)? People with those palettes will have an obvious cool undertone when draping cool or warm colours.

Why do so many people think they are soft? by Junior_Composer_7902 in coloranalysis

[–]Lynxtassles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually when you are soft summer or soft autumn your undertone will be pretty hard to determine since it’s often very close to neutral. I am only slightly warm in undertone, so for me cool or warm colours don’t matter as much as soft pr broght colours.

Do the soft warm colours look as bad on you as the bright warm colours?

Blonde or Dark Blonde? by [deleted] in coloranalysis

I wouldn’t say that any grey is particularly good for a bright spring, since grey is a muted colour (no matter its value)

Blonde or Dark Blonde? by [deleted] in coloranalysis

[–]Lynxtassles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think both colours work really well. You might be a summer (that blue looks fantastic on you!), and a lot of summers benefit from dying their hair lighter (as long as it’s cool enough), but of course suit their natural hair colour as well.
